Obama, cause this shit will unravel fast. Let the dems have complete control and fuck us in the ass.Love is more important to me than faith.0

Clinton is the only one I feel is "horrible." Considering the alternatives (Romney, Huckabee, Clinton, Edwards), I'm fairly optimistic about McCain v. Obama. Neither is my ideal candidate, but pretty decent as far as major parties go.0

who are the 3 candidates..0

To call Barack Obama a horrible candidate shows a complete lack of understanding for anything politically related. He's a great candidate. I've got a feeling you're one of those people that wouldn't like candidates from either major party no matter who they were. The Official Matt Cameron appreciation signature!0

I've stated plenty of reasons why I wouldn't vote for him and think he's just more of the same and I'm pretty sure I understand politics. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

1. Explain WHY you think Barack Obama is "a great candidate."
2. Just say that anyone who doesn't like him obviously has no idea what they're talking about, and therefore has a lack of understanding for ANYTHING politically related.
Almost every Obama supporter I've dealt with is the same. No reason why he's obviously the best choice, but if you don't see that he's the best choice then you don't know anything.0 -

yep, that's been my experience, too.
'He's a great speaker and uniter' really isn't saying much. I don't understand what's so great about him. His stances are almost identical to Hilary's and actually I think some of hers are better. And all 3 have the same foreign policy standards. What has he done that is so 'grrrrreat'?If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

All horrible because right now foreign policy is driving me the most, and none of them are good for IraqCamden I '06, Camden II '06, Bonnaroo '08, Camden I '08, Camden II '08, Philly Spectrum II/III/IV '09, MSG I '10, MSG II '10, Made In America '12, Wrigley '13, Brooklyn II '13, Philly I '13, Philly II '13, ...0

Or Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Palestine....and the list goes on.
I am truly proud to support a candidate for the first time in my voting life. I don't feel like I'm fighting against someone so much as I feel I am fighting for someone who is truly deserving, inspiring and for all the things I believe in. It feels right. And I'm gonna keep singing his praises for as long as it takes.

Barrak Hussein Obama....The name alone will even make realtions better w/ the middle east.
Having "foreign relations" experience is vastly overrated. Intellect, Common sense, compassion, passion, human decency etc. are much more important. All of which has been severely lacking the last 8 years.
Also, what ex president has had great foreign relations experience before they took office? Answer. Pretty much none (George Sr. is probably the closest and that went well. doh)
besides America needs a lot of fixing at home too. It would be nice to have a president that cares about the people in the US too. Bush could give to shits about the common man at home or afar.0 -

Vote for Satan and go down in a blaze of glory...Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,

I'm sure some of the people that support obama don't know as much as they should about him. Same as some McCain, Hillary and Nader supporters.
I'm just so tired of all constant criticizm that Obama supporters are mindless sheep, while supporters of his opponents are apparently the only free-thinkers on the planet.
Supporting a party with candidates and a platform fitting or as close as fitting with your objectives certainly does NOT make you (or others) sheep.
Frankly, I find the "sheep" comments to be a form of labeling from frustrated people who find many just do not agree with their view of the world. Rather than to try and understand why they disagree (and respect this) it gives an opportunity to be dismissive of those folks as "dumb". Rather short sighted and self defeating in my point of view.
It's been going on in this forum for so long now. There's at least two or three comments in this thread alone about it. Whenever you say anything back, someone says ' well why does obama deserve your vote'?. So you answer, and then a couple a days later it happens again, and in the end i just think, fuck it.0 -

Don't let it get to you. Us Nader supporters get called radical, extreme left, head in the clouds, too idealistic, stubborn, fringe, throwing our vote away....you know the drill.
People who disagree are going to often do it whilst being rude and obnoxious, sadly. Let that speak to who they are as a person, not yourself. As long as you know it isn't true...don't sweat the small stuff. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

Heineken Helen wrote:but really though... what else does the US president actually do? It's not like they make any decisions... being a great speaker and uniter are two of the main qualities I look for when I vote... because that's all they have to do. A president is probably the biggest ambassador for your country so, if they can speak well, it helps a LOT. Why do you think America's so unpopular under Bush compared to Clinton?
I'd like to think they change things for the better...ya know, like they all say they're going to do. It's their job to guide us and lead...not just talk about things they never do. They all have these grand plans of things they say they are going to do because they know it's supposed to be their job. They pick cabinet members, advisers, judges, etc who do affect the direction our country is going. So when I see these candidates all full of these plans to change things, they need to put their money where their mouth is. They all have connections with lobbyists, corporate contributors and these same people who give them the money to get elected will be the ones who benefit the most once they're in.
If all we expect out of our leaders is talk, it's no wonder we're in the mess we are.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.
