its a non democratic country that does not recognize Israel. and we are best friends. thats the only country I've been to in the middle east, I would love to go to more but yea...
I've been into other middle eastern countries (never dubai though) and they don't feel very warm towards americans in general. It's stupid but it's like this, if you're american you're categorized as an evil person, and strangely the poorer they are the more you see that feeling come up.
In Cairo I've already been obliged to quickly say that I'm european to see a more friendly face in front of me. I hate that kind of shit but it's like this right now.
  • LMAO!!!!! Funny, yet true!

And people wonder why the US has lost so much credibitly around the world.

I think Canada should up the price of thier oil. Lets say 1.00 USD per gallon.

Would people like you start listing to Canada if 30% of the US oil just added nearly a third on to the price per gallon?

    eh?

I'm Canadian and I don't care what Canada has to say on this subject.

It's just talk for the sake of talking. Just pure meaningless bullshit.

This was a thread about torture was it not? I don't see why it has to turn into USA vs Canada.

Why can't we both just be proud we live in 2 of the best countries on the planet?

Exactly Thank you. Regardless of all the attempted sidetracking, these two countries listed in the original article, do in fact torture people, and consider it acceptable.

    That's pretty sick.

Properly debating something means having a concept of what is actually taking place in reality. My original post in this thread might serve as some kind of indication ;)

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/canada_usa_torture_col

Under "definition of torture" the document lists U.S. interrogation techniques such as forced nudity, isolation, sleep deprivation and blindfolding prisoners.

    thats toture?

"The United States does not permit, tolerate, or condone torture under any circumstances," said a spokeswoman for the U.S. embassy in Ottawa.

A spokesman for Foreign Minister Maxime Bernier tried to distance Ottawa from the document.

"The training manual is not a policy document and does not reflect the views or policies of this government," he said.

Other countries on the watch list include Syria, China, Iran, Afghanistan, Mexico and Saudi Arabia. theres a shocker. I wonder if their techniques are worse then nudity?

But you hold it above all other evidence in spite of, or am I mistaken about that?

Of course they're going to proclaim themselves innocent in an internal investigation. Who wouldn't? What would you expect the outcome to be?
