You Are, You and Who You Are were all played in a row at the DC show tonight!

HA HA HA. I love Eddie. That is some really funny shit. I bet you a fan had to point that out to someone in the band. I'm surprised I never thought of that before and I've thought of some weird as random Pearl Jam stuff.

Also, does anyone know if the "we don't belong together" tag at Bonarroo was the first time it was sung that way?

I hope they make it to the west coast for at least 1 or 2 shows this year.

Edit: And I didn't mean those set of songs are greater cause it's hard to top any trio of songs with nothingman and betterman... i just thought other trio is funnier.

You are, you, who you are absolutely kills BM,NM,LM. betterman is too common unless theres a tag, leatherman is cool but nothing incredible, and i was never a huge fan of nothingman.

you are=amazing, and i was lucky to hear it live. which might i add, was the highlight of my night when i heard it

Don't forget about the "I" trilogy if there is such a thing. I'm open, I am mine and I Got ID in a row.

I absolutely agree. For one, I hate leatherman, betterman can be fun depending on size of crowd, and nothingman is one of my fav songs.
But I love U, Who You, and You Are even more than nothingman so this trio does it for me. I hope they play it again at MSG II or Hartford since i doubt they'll do it at MSG I

nice change of lyrics though isnt it?

I would prefer Not For You to be in there instead of U. Not a fan of that song

Considering that, until this year, Who You Are hadn't been played since '98 ... and considering that You Are wasn't written in 2002 ... yes, that would the debut of the You Trilogy.

    Or how about Save You.

    Indeed :)
Never mind the "You" trilogy, there could be a "You" anthology :D
  • Ok, the You Vs. Man debate is upon us :-)

One guys opinion, will try to break it down.....

    For the Yous we have....

You Are- Riot Act Song so it already has one strike against it. Kind of boring but live it is ok.

U- Kind of fun, rarely played, I think this one and Leatherman really cancel each other out.

Who You Are- Till recently rarely played and a fun little sing a long....hmmm kind of like "Better Man".

    For the Mans we have...

NothingMan- Great sing a long and it is from Vitalogy so that gives it extra credit.

Leatherman- See above comments for U.

Better Man- I don't care what the die-hards who only still go to shows in the hopes of hearing Bee Girl or Sweet Lew say; When this song is played you scream your freaking lungs out and in the beginning when Ed lets the crowd run with it; your hair still stands on the back of your neck each time.

So thinking about this out loud for a couple minutes, I would have to say while it is cool to hear the new "You" trifecta. It is still not as good as the "Man" trilogy.

I know they played them in D.C. Is the set list wrong because the way I read it, it says that they played I'm open, I am Mine, and I got ID, in a row. Correct me if I'm wrong.

    That was the official order.

I also liked the Why go, Go and Gone trilogy, in this order. I d like to see that in this tour.
