    what a fucking joke.
I almost didn't read this....my initial assumption from the thread title was along the lines of the "official" story - they were prob just looking for troublemakers....which makes me mad at myself in the first place for being conditioned to think that - that in itself is bullshit....
But I didnt realize these fucking pigs were wearing masks and carrying rocks. This is SERIOUSLY fucked up. Then you've got Harper mocking the turnout, when you couldn't get anywhere near the place anyway.

The police forces' response was so typically pitiful.....
"It is not in the police force's policies, nor in its strategies, to act in that manner.

At all times, they responded within their mandate to keep order and security."

so we should just accept that they wouldn't do it because it's not in your fucking policy book? grrrr
they kept order and security by wearing masks and carrying rocks?

  • Another thread where something VALID is posted, and then someone comes in and derails the discussion with some idiotic mention of a typographic\grammatic error.
    PLEASE STOP THIS SHIT.

    GETTING BACK ON TRACK:

Who is going to be the first to step up and say that this is "isolated" and not indicative of how "the system" works in general ... and that there isn't a real problem with government supression of truth ... and that these officers were probably acting on their own, and will likely be suspended, but that it isn't the government's fault ...

who is going to say that this wasn't a conspiracy of sorts?

Police conspire to disrupt a peaceful demonstration against below-the-public-awareness meetings (HOW many news reports did anyone see outside of quebec, maybe? inside of quebec even?) ...

how many will see ANY mention of THIS on the news?

And yet we have people all over who doubt the collusion of government and media ...

even when you have the head of CIA mentioning on PBS things like "requesting the complicity of the media" in matters of national security etc ...

    come on people.

    WAKE UP.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

It's not YOU who have hit a nerve, skitch.
It is the mentality on this board that you momentarily personified that hit a nerve.

The need to engage in petty argument is SO pervasive around here lately as to make any real discussion almost impossible.

If you want proof, just look at this thread.
Where below rolands original thread start post do you see ANY valid discussion of it? and how hard would any one who DID want to contribute have to look in order to decipher such from the junk that is now here?

    :(

lol...yeah..wearing masks, looking like a terrorist, and acting suspicious and combative while carrying rocks, is the new way for the police to interact intelligently apparently.

And they are all are ok with that.

Anyone here (like me) ever have a run in with a Quebec cop before?

    Yeah...it's not particularly pleasant.

Well let's keep light heartedness for light hearted threads and for serious threads like this, lets keep it on track Please.

if the Quebec police are going to these lengths then where will it end? Is this their form of scare tactics to intimidate?

"Cops" infiltrating the "opposition" is older than Judas. It's part of the game. It's nice when they're outed. I'm satisfied with that.

What's worse, the police infiltrating this demonstration, or the assholes in this thread who cannot take a joke? My vote: the assholes. It was three police officers anyway, quit ur bitchin' and get jobs.

I saw this on the news last night. Absurd!

It's one thing for the Conservatives to try to degrade the Liberals in this way, but it's entirely a different thing for the Government to discredit the citizens they serve in this same manner.

There shouldn't be a war between Government and Citizenry. Whenever a portion of the citizenry is discontented with this type of secrecy, it should be the governments priority to rectify the problem, not exacerbate it.

What would happen if the agents were successful. It would appear that a bunch of headless apes rioted in opposition to something they don't understand. The nation dumbed down by their bubetubes would mostly relate to the "peaceful" appearance of the SPP and looked down upon the violent protesters. But, it is not so, has it ever been so? In this case, the government is the source of the violence, not the protestors and how many times has it been protestors?

You can't know. The discontent with the citizenry is over the secrecy of the SPP, Harper chose to deal with it by extending that secrecy and clandestine activity to agent provacateurs. Absolutely absurd.

Well I was like pulling teeth to try to introduce the SPP/NAU situation here. I got all kinds of endless repetitive nonsense slung at me for that.

Then, all the way along trying to show people it's actually real, people kept taking shots. Now that everyone actually knows it is real, and I'm shedding further light on it for what it really is, the criticism keeps coming.

So yeah...I'm a little touchy on the "you're crazy...."you're slipping/losing it" aspect over this topic at this point. Mostly because it's a pretty important issue.

Anyhow... don't worry about it. It happens.
