Why should the mentally handicapped be given a free pass?

Because no one knows who they are. They wear black bags over their heads.

depending on the severity of their handicap they can not assist in their defense or may not even know the difference between right and wrong.

More reason for what killing someone who does not possess the mental capability to understand their actions.

why dont we euthanize them at birth then? eugenics might not be such a bad idea after all. we could allow abortions only for rape, incest, or if your baby is gonna be a retard. what doyu say?

It's considered that 1 in 3 to 1 in 4 girls are sexually assaulted before they reach adulthood. Obviously many of our brother/fathers/uncles/cousins/neighbours are doing the assaulting. If we could find these men, you advocate the death penality for them all?

No not death for them. The problem is that they are protected once in prison. I say put the son's of bitches in with the general population. Let prison justice take it's course.

LOL Lovely. Drag it out of proportion. A murderer is a murderer is a murderer. So why bring up euthanizing the mentally retarded at birth?

I heard the same things said about Bush when he was running. He seems like an average guy who you could sit down and have a beer with. Isn't that what people where saying about Bush and look what he did to our country. I'm no fan of Slick Willy but if we are going to point out the flaw of picking our politicians simply by their character traits then lets make sure we point out how we made that same mistake twice after Bill left office.

Yes, but how many people voted for Bill for the same reason, in fact I remember people who met him how natural he was and how they would just like to share a beer with him? It's a crapshoot.

you said that a mentaly handicapped person's inability to understand the consequences of their actions is the best reason to execute them. why not cut to the chase and kill them before they hurt anyone?
  • Ya know I kinda like the dude too. Smoked weed, grew up in Hawaii. But be real. He ain't ready and it's not his time. Do you honestly think the Red States are going to elect a black democrat with a muslim father whose middle name is HUSSEIN!? Look y'all, I am not trying to be shallow or anything. But I know this country pretty well. And outside of California and New York, ain't no other state gonna put this guy in office during a war in the middle east.
Forget it. Just get used to saying it...President McCain, President McCain.

....and can only hope that my decision will last to 2008.

    I want Obama for President.

Not an easy decision for me, since I was raised a Republican. I had a plush stuffed toy elephant as a child whom I named Nixon. I voted for Reagan (my first ever vote, in my early twenties) and I voted for Bush. And I voted for the Bush baby too, even though I was already falling out of love with the Republicans at that point in time.

Obama has what any American leader needs the most: an every-life. He started out with an every-life. He could've been anything, anyone, anybody. He has lived an every-life....yet he's taken his life farther than most people I know with an every-life. And look at him now.

He has good ideas. Good principles. Good speeches. Good presence. Good brain. Good heart. Good background (no matter what Billary says about his Muslim schooling, LOL). Good vibes.....and vibes are important.

I'm a 42 year old administrative assistant who is making just enough to get by in an apartment I share with my boyfriend and our two cats. We have no savings account, although we both have 401K's and medical insurance that depend on our continued employment. We live paycheck to paycheck. We have family members who have either served in a war or are about to. We pay our taxes and we can afford a computer. We are healthy, so far. But we worry. We worry all the time.

I don't want a useless war that will cost lives. I don't want America to be seen as a bunch of smug cowboys. I want every child in this country to learn how to read and get a good education. I want every citizen in this country to remember the principles we were founded on, and to uphold them.

I...a former Republican.....am very seriously considering campaigning for Obama.

Ahhhh.....I feel so much better now, having gotten that out. Now tell me how to start.

Since you seem to know this guy can you tell me what his position is on ANYTHING? Because I for one, have no fucking idea.
  • Since you seem to know this guy can you tell me what his position is on ANYTHING? Because I for one, have no fucking idea.

If you spend some time doing some research, you can find out.

I hate comments like this... For the last 10 years he was either in the Illinois state senate or the US senate, and has done countless interviews... don't you think he had some votes and took some positions in 10 years???

Just because you don't take time to listen doesn't me that someone doesn't have a position or a plan. That was the most frustrating thing about the '04 election... Kerry would give an hour long speech on what he would do about issue X, and all night on the news the republican talking points would be that he has no plan on issue X. Instead of taking the time to listen to what he said, and dispute that (which wouldn't be hard most of the time), it was easier for them to sit there with their fingers in their ears saying la-la-la-la-la-la and then say that he didn't have a plan.
