I think it's a mix of Bush sucking and the top contenders for the nomination being losers.

Giuliani, Romney, McCain...even Thompson. They're all complete lightweights.

No one is excited about these guys. Giuliani is pro-choice, pro gun control, and pro-gay. Romney changed his views on those issues just a few months ago so he could run for president. McCain supports amnesty. And Thompson has no experience, just words. He's also on Law and Order and that show sucks!

I fear that Hillary may win it.
If Hillary gets the nomination, it will mobilize the Republican base like never before. Plus, most people hate congress.

This statement says a lot about our current political situation. I believe that most people do hate Congress and they are fed up with the shit choices we are given when it comes to our elected official, but yet the people do nothing about it. They keep swallowing the shit sandwich that the Dems and Reps put infront of us. You don't know how many times I hear well I would vote for so and so but he/she doesn't have a chance to win. If everyone that expressed that sentiment actually voted for those people they would win.

I don't know who said it on this board, but they said that we get the president (or any other elected official) we deserve. The American public is so apathetic to who we vote into office that we deserve to get the shitty representation we get. We really have no one to blame but ourselves.

Congress actually has a lower approval rating than Bush. I think Americans just disapprove of everybody.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do

In my opinion, Bush has handed the Democrats the next presidency.

Maybe this is being done so on purpose. Who knows, who really wants to take the Presidency and TRY to clean up this mess. George W Bush A failure in the military, failure an oilman, failure as a baseball owner and as a President....?

Or maybe this is an arrangement to let Democrats in 2008...they fail turning this country around then in 2012 a grand return of the bush family from either Jeb or Marvin Bush. Either way they'll have a zillions of $$$ to back their campaign.

After what the Bush Administration has done over the 6/7 years I'll never ever underestimate their capabilities. After Bush 41 I never thought Bush 43 would end up where he is but he's in there...though by the skin of his teeth.

I'm an independent by everyone's definition
(I'm an ethical vegetarian who doesnt even eat marshmallows nor wear leather, and believe in the death penalty and capitalism).

imho - bush has been consistent, and I understand what he's been doing. However - I think his management of the war is horrible, and the republicans are kinda in a tough spot.

If any of the nominees run to the left, they'll get crushed by conservative voters. If they run to the right, they'll bump into Georgie and get into more trouble.

I think an "independent" thinker is what we need, in both parties.

    Put Obama against McCain.

    Put Kusinitch against Thompson.

...but damnit, keep Jeb and Hillary the hell out of this one. we need new blood badly.

I'm all for putting Obama against any Republican. He'd win.

And, um, it's Kucinich, not Kusinitch.

Hehehehe.....Nice one, he's mismanaged his presidency and caused so much misery around this globe. It sure would be nice if he brought some to himself. Yes, for me it's always been and will be D. Kuncinich from Ohio after him none of them matter to me.

First candidate I know would like to create a DEPARTMENT OF PEACE and to top it off he's a huge Michael Franti and Spearhead fan.
