I'll tell you the one I don't get, Obama paying to have his name in Video games.
Damn, I thought it was a stroke of genius. He tapped into a mobile advertising source that most people put down because of the so called demographics of the people THEY THINK play video games.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.
yeah i dont think it made her more likable. her appearance was pretty boring.
for a woman who could potentially end up in charge of this country, i think her time would be better spent reading all those magazines and brushing up on foreign policy, rather than hangin out on the SNL set. unless she just plans on rapping her way out of any political dilemma?

Thanks for my afternoon laugh. It is so true. She needs to be getting a clue and the world not sitting there while not being funny.
We will have to agree to disagree on this one - but there is no need to name call. We just see it different.
The best parodies are when candidates mock themselves - it comes off self-effacing and it does make them more likable. I've seen Obama, McCain and Biden do it well on different entertainment porgram. It shows their sense of humor.
This didn't show her as funny. The only line Sara had was when she said she wasn't going to answer any questions and I didn't find that too funny - maybe because I really think that is a pretty serious thing that she is not talking to reporters.
The rest of the time - she was mocked and took it, imho making her look dumb. Her big zinger was telling Alex that she preferred his brother - but that was pretty soft after he called her horrible.
I'll say she was a good sport - managed to smile through it effectively -memorised her lines well (just like the debates) - but I don't think it made her more likable. Just another pagent performance.
I think she was supposed to do the rap and decided against that, which is why she didnt have as many lines as most guests like her do. But there is no question she knew she was being mocked and playing around with it. I really dont see this any differently than any other politician that goes on the show.
In 1998, I attended the Kennedy Center Honors in Washington. A friend who is a lobbyist there escorted me to a weekend's worth of events. As we moved around a brunch reception one late morning, I turned and suddenly faced Henry Kissinger. I remember thinking, at that exact moment, that here before me was the man who defined the horrible abuses of American political and military power that have cast such an enormous shadow over America's reputation since the Vietnam war. Not exactly to a Hitchens-esque degree, I was horrified. My political opposite one foot away from me. "Alec, this is Henry Kissinger," my friend said. I paused and said, "I'm sorry to hear about your mother."
Kissinger's mother, Paula, had died the month before, at the age of 97. She had lived in the same formerly German-Jewish community in the Washington Heights section of Manhattan for decades. Kissinger looked me in the eye and, with what I believed was genuine emotion, said, "Thank you for saying that to me." I mention this because I wonder, what did some of you people actually think would happen with Palin on SNL?
Saturday Night Live is a comedy show. It's not Meet the Press. It doesn't "ask the tough questions" or "set the agenda." It attempts, with varying degrees of success, to make people laugh. That's it. Whether they skewer and savage people in order to do so, they don't care. When you come on a show like that, you are prepared in advance to get worked over. Palin knew that. Palin came on to be a good sport. And she was. She was polite, gracious. (More so than some of the famous actors who come through there, believe me.)
However, I assume that, like Meet the Press, SNL feels an obligation to offer their special forum to any and all public figures and officials who are current. Headline making. And in SNL's case, would make for a hit show. Several people decried SNL for giving her a spot on the show. You're kidding, right? The woman is the Vice Presidential nominee of one of the two major parties in this country. Don't put her on SNL? With all of her exposure and the Tina Fey performance? What reality are you in?
If you think an appearance on Saturday Night Live would sway voters and actually affect the outcome of the election, you may have more contempt for the electorate of this country than the Republican National Committee does. And that's a lot of contempt.
eh it really wasn't that funny anyway, she just kinda sat there, said a few lines, had whatshername do a rap and that was it. kinda boring, typical snl though, I don't know what I was expecting going in.
You are all relentless. She did a great job. For her to be able to even go there after they have mocked her, was impressive.
For some of you, your political glasses can't allow you to give credit to a real person sometimes. She impressed me a lot by going on there. Being able to take a joke aimed at you is impressive.... period. Having the ability to know it's just a joke is also impressive.
Because she's up against Obama, some of you can't even give credit where it is due. I'm not saying, that Republicans don't do the same... because they def do. I'm just saying... Please wake up. Life is not just politics.
Disagreements happen and not everyone is going to agree with you. Just because they don't agree with you politically does not mean they can't be a nice person, a funny person, or impress you in some other way. UGH. Wake up.

of....?
Hate = "KILL HIM" not "thanks for the morning laugh...."

I was focusing on the childishness portion of my comment.
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
....still laughing
thanks!
