Rolling Stone might be one of the worst magazines ive ever seen. I think Bush is a retard, I think 90% of the Republicans in Congress are retarded. But, when I see the this cover story, it makes me wonder if the Democrats are ever going to win. Didnt the Democrats and their friends in the media(Rolling Stone & others) learn that just bashing the other side wont win?

Repubicans have a HUGE base, I think in the last 37 years only 2 Democrats have won the White House. This "Republicans suck" campaign only energizes Republicans and get them out to vote. As much as I would love the Republicans to lose, I have absolutly no interest in reading a magazine that says "Worst Congress Ever". Its like a contest of who can be more one-sided, Rush Limbaugh or Rolling Stone. At least Rush can be funny.

Republicans suck, but they kick ass when it comes to winning elections. They even got Bush to win a 2nd term! Democrats are just plain stupid and are failing more and more every election season.

Looks like ill be voting all Libertarian again.

isn't congress composed of republicans and democrats? the congress as a whole does suck. what have they done in the last 6-7 years? i recall them banding together for the "good" of the country once... to change french fries to freedom fries.

For reasons like these is why I read Blender and Mojo.

    Plus they actually talk music.

Thank you for the excellent article. I would encourage you to read it. Its much more factual than Rush.
  • I do see your point about provoking the opposition, but on the other hand there is nothing the matter with being partisan when you're right. And this congress has been particularly useless.

I live in England and am fortunate that the shop near to where I work in London sells Rolling Stone. It is partisan, but that's fine by me. As the previous poster says, it's o.k to be partisan when you're right. I like Rolling Stone's mix of music, movies, and politics. I also like the lay out of it. As far as mags go, I think it's pretty cool. That and Uncut magazine are the two monthly must buys for me.

Who gets there news from Rolling Stone? I mean, other than music news?

Many republicans have screwed up badly. The problem for me is that with their views, the Dems would screw things up equally as bad or worse from my point of view.

I have no idea who I will vote for in the future, but I'm hoping for a republican return to true conservatism with a slight shift to the left on some social issues (not abortion). Truely compassionate conservatism. That would be my ideal right now.

The only way to take republicans down is by registering as a republican, then you can vote in primary on their ticket, against their ticket.....on the Rolling Stone mag, there's a new copy on our coffee table each time they release one...Of course it's milk and toast now a days, but I remember when rolling stone wasn't even a magazine; rather it was a newspaper....look how far they've come.....

So, why did you visit their website? This is akin to people saying Limbaugh sucks but they listen to his programme.

What, specifically, did you not like about the article? If this is not the worst congress ever, which one would you say was worse?

This is not a "Republicans suck" article. It is a "this congress sucks" article, and this congress DOES suck. I think most republicans would agree with that, particularly if they were fully aware of what's been going on in Washington for the past 6 years.

I can't stand Rolling Stone either, but this article surprised me by being rather good.

While I agree that our Congress is beyond horrorable, both parties are to blame, I really don't look to Rolling Stone for political insight or commentary, or music reviews.

I agree, Rolling Stone really blows when it tries its hand at political commentary. Maybe I just can't get past how petulant and bitchy they sound. Every issue there's some little soundbyte on the cover about Bush ... Sure, Bush is a tard. We get it. If I want political commentary, I can get it from sources that don't just come across as a bunch of washed-up hippies bitching in a really unintelligent fashion. And like the original poster, I firmly believe that the Republicans need to lose next election. Don't know ... The magazine bugs me, it sucks.

That's pretty much all Rolling Stone is good for, that and bird cage lining.

I'll pass on the Rolling Stone TP, but I guess if the situation arises it can also be used as TP.

Wow, im getting a lot of people agreeing with me. I didnt know this many people disliked Rolling Stone as much as I do.

Talk about drinking the Kool-Aid. As much as the American stereotype is fat, dumb, lazy, and rich. The European stereotype is "belive every left-wing thing we read," dont most Europeans belive Bush planned 9/11? Who acts more like sheeple, the Republican base or the we-hate-Bush crowd?

I will read the occasional Rolling Stone political article. Along with Air American and Rush Limbaugh. I enjoy hearing all sides of politics. But I get frustrated at crap articles like this.

The Europeans are just as myopic and reactionary as the Americans are ... They just happen to be on the right end of the political spectrum for this message board, so they catch less crap from people here.

No, Europeans don't believe Bush planned 9/11. However, a lot of people believe that he 'allowed' it to happen. The evidence is there for all to see.

First, the Republicans are in control of this country as they control ALL branches of government, which has led to abuse in power and corruption. It's been like this for the past 6 years. Since they are the ones in control they are on the chopping block. So you're mad at democrats for bashing the Republicans...that's exactly how the Republicans won the past elections from bashing the Democrats, lol.

The question is, are you happy with the way the Republicans are running the country? Most importantly are your representatives representing how you want this country run? Have they been honest and trust worthy? Have they made the right decisions? If not it's time to replace them no matter what party they are in. Now I plan on voting for the democrats because I am very unhappy with the way the Republicans have run the country. Now am I positive that the democrats will do a better job? No, but I know for a fact that the Republicans have done the worst job in running this country in my entire lifetime so it's time for a change. There is one democrat that I will not be voting for and that's the NY State Comptroller, he has abused his power as he has taken money from taxpayers so his wife could be driven around. He claims that many NYS politicians do the same but his number one job is to make sure that the state government does not do things like this. He has failed so he has to go too.

I think the most important thing in this election is there needs to be a balance in power so one party can't run the country into the ground and divide the country like this again.

    I’d thank my lucky stars,
    to be livin here today.
‘Cause the flag still stands for freedom,
and they can’t take that away.

And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I wont forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
