Well that’s easy. A democrat does not know how to spend their own money so they let the government decide for them. They place all blame on the federal government because they believe said so government should take care of them because they do not believe they can do it themselves.

    That is funny.....

republicans spend money they don't have and want the federal governament to reduce our freedoms, legislate morality and what we do with our own bodies.

But like it has always been, republicans spend spend spend spend running up HUGE debt, growing gov and let the Dems figure out how to fix it.

Then say we will make gov small and reduce spending, which never happens.

"Sen. McCain likes to talk about judgment, but really, what does it say about your judgment when you think George Bush was right more than 90 percent of the time?"

McCain's presidential support score has been as low as 77% as recently as 2005. Which is a significant departure from party lines. You would expect a Republican to vote with the Republicans nearly 100% of the time. Obama votes with the Democrats nearly 100% of the time. Not surprising considering how far left he is. What is the real lesson here? Obama tows the party line much more than McCain does. This should be obvious though, that is why conservatives don't like McCain.

Obamas speech was awesome and inspiring. This man is something special. I WILL be naive and place my trust and hope in him.

Lets not turn this into a abortion and gun debate. There are a lot more important issues that need attention. Like Obama said, we ALL want to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Nobody "wants to take the lives of unborn babies" as a previous poster said. Lets work together on that. Many of us enjoy hunting and shooting sports, but we dont enjoy our neighborhoods being shot at by thugs on a nightly basis. Something else we all agree on. Again, lets focus on that. I do not know of one Democrat on earth who wants guns taken away from everyone.

I thought the speech was decent - but with that said I think he's full of bs and 90% of what he claimed he would do in his presidency wouldn't occur.

Anyone can claim they will do something - saying such is not inspiring - doing it is!

I am not a fan of politicians either, and yes they are full of shit. But, I do trust this guy. Call me crazy.

You cannot do what you promised if you are not elected. Pure and simple. To get elected, you need to "inspire" or "motivate" people to vote for you with your words and track record. Then, and only then, can he insire people such as you by doing what he said. You got to take a chance.

I do not trust or believe any politician. We have a corrupt system which is run by private interests and business agendas.

This election will be an interesting experiment. We'll get to see how racist our society still is once it is over. If Obama passes that portion and is elected, then we'll get to find out (or in my opinion, it will specifically show) how much of our government is really in our control or in our behalf compared to private interests, lobbying and corporate influenced decisions.

My guess is that McCain will win - not because he's better, simply because the Rep's know how to run an election - dirty and don't give voters any credit to think - merely generalize. The Dems are terrible with reading the public and society around them which causes them to undermind themselves and look weak with no real plan. But even if Obama is elected, I feel the vast majority of his "changes" will be undercut in Congress due to private interests and lobbying. If such a thing were to occur, it would hopefully and truly wake people up to how off kilt our democracy is because of the corporate agenda, compared to just having one biased political party blame the other half for all the problems we see in society and our actions abroad.

This week was Blue BS week, next week is Red BS week. What a load.

    Here's what I thought....I'm sure you've been wondering ;)

I thought the speech was pretty terrific. Being a republican for th emost part, I obviosuly disagreed with some of the statements. And the beginning was pissing me off because he was talking in generalities again with no substance...but then he came back to each point later in the speech with substance. I thought he did a great job of 'attacking' McCain on issues (not personal). I thought he was inspiring. I liked the overall messsage though, as I said, I disagree with him on several issues.

My wife said..."That's what a president should look and sound like"...obviously, she had more opinions of the meat of the issues, but she was also right. He did project as being presidential. Being a leader without being an ego-maniac. Making it about the people and the issues.

Here's the thing...as president maybe it's ok to talk more in generalities and setting lofty goals without specific plans to attack each issue...that's what you delegate to the experts. Think abotu a large corporation, the CEO determines the overal path...the future...where the company should be in the coming years. Sets stretch goals...but doesn't tell people how to get there specifically. He/She challenges them to meet the lofty goals using their own ingenuity and creativity...and it happens if you have the right people. So, his message of change could work without specifics if he puts th eright people in the right jobs and the American People believe and work towards the solutions together.

Anyhow, I'm still undecided, but McCain and his VP pick better be good next week. I really hope he picks a woman VP, that would be extremely interesting. But Obama may be worth a shot to see if any of this change can actually happen. And without him stealing all of my change ($). ;)

Typical liberal diversion. You are talking apples and oranges. Posting my contact information online and the government listening in to me on the phone are two completly seperate things. If you already can't understand the difference, then I doubt I should waste my time trying to explain it to you.

It's just like those diversionary Obama commercials talking about Bill Ayers commiting crimes when Obama was 8, and not touching on the real issue of them being buddies.

That was well thought out and a good read Bearcat.

I hope Obama is for real, I am not yet too jaded to believe what we saw last night was a guy who could help America to get back its greatness. He has some good ideas appears to have good sense and has a presidential demeanor. It should be interesting to see if our society can make what appears to be the right choice this year.
