I find it close to impossible to agree with any candidate on EVERY issue. what it comes down to for me is the overall picture.

My advice (not that is solicited) is to decide what are the absolute 2 or 3 top issues to you, and find the guy or gal that most closely aligns with you on those issues.

For instance, if you are staunchly anti-Iraq war, McCain wouldn't be your guy, even if you agreed with him on every other minor issue.

we could go back to where our families came from. i would be happy having native be border agents so that they can get everyone who is not native and hence illigal out of teh country. are you in?

not surprised that a McCain thread became an illegal immigration thread...

anyway, i'll throw my two cents in...

the fact is illegal immigrants are here because the whole of American society wants them here. they work harder (because they have more to lose), and they don't have to be paid benefits. there isn't a single American who doesn't benefit in some way from the exploitation of illegal immigrants. the economy would collapse if we tried to kick them all out. The United States of America came to be because of uninvited invaders. but the invaders from the southern border were invited - by our business class, and it began to pay off for the general public, although many native-born workers lost their jobs. but it's only recently that we have begun to say as a country that we don't want to invite anymore.

I personally think we should grant FULL amnesty and FULL documentation to all of the migrants that we have invited thru our back door. but at some point, you begin to have a serious breakdown of civil society when there is too much unorganized immigration. i'm sure we already have that in many parts of the country, especially in the southwest. i have to admit, illegal immigration hadn't had much of noticeable effect when i live in eastern massachusetts. but throughout the country, we need to move forward humanely and responsibly.

Actually....everybody who ever lived on this continent is or is descended from an immigrant. Humans did not evolve on this continent......the first humans on this continent came from Asia roughly 10,000 years ago....and then preceded to kill nearly all of the mega fauna present at the time.

well put. I used to work with these dudes from el slavador, they put in as many hours as they could at minimum wage, which is shit. They did a lot for the company. and that's pretty common.

Well said. Did you know we have billions sitting in Social Security paid through fake social security numbers? We won't pay it out because we actually don't know how to. These immigrants, just by working and living in the US, help the economy SO much.

so he is going to kill all muslims who protest.
