Obamas church adopted the Black Value System. Only encourages growth from the black community. Imagine if a white candidate used this same system and replaced the word black with white. It would be all over the news. Here is Obamas church beliefs.

Commitment to the Black Family
Dedication to the Pursuit of Education
Dedication to the Pursuit of Excellence
Adherence to the Black Work Ethic
Commitment to Self-Discipline and Self-Respect
Disavowal of the Pursuit of "Middleclassness"
Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the Black Community
Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting Black Institutions
Pledge allegiance to all Black leadership who espouse and embrace the Black Value System
Personal commitment to embracement of the Black Value System.

    I read through that a few times. I don't see anything to worried about. Maybe it the word whitey or honky was in there somewhere. The church I belong to or beliefs are to strive towards a strong community and better family life.
    My whole life looked like a picture of a sunny day.

    Makes you wonder what they are worshipping when only 1 of the 10 or so values relate to God. Maybe it is the black community they are worshipping.

    well if I were black and believed god existed...then I'm pretty sure that I'd think that god sold me out, so I'd say that community is more important than any god.

    I am guessing The Black Value system is above and beyond actual Church activity. More like a guide on how to live your life day to day.

    If there is a God, he/she sure has given people of color, any color, the shitty end of the stick.

    If a white candidate used the same system, he/she would be a fool. The white community isn't a minority in the population. They don't have to worry about being under-represented. This isn't something to cry "double standard!" at.

    don't look at this from the "what if a white candidate believed in this" perspective

    look at it as if you were black.... what values you would want your church (a historically black church) to promote

    That's because society (as it is) is tailored for white people.

    We basically don't need to say "embrace the white principles of the white community," because we already are by existing and thriving in this society. And a lot of us don't even know it.

    The church should follow the Bible's value system, not the black value system. Otherwise, it isn't a church, it is a club for black people.

    God did not give the different races any favor, people did.

    Everything he says but the Jews taking over BET sounds about right (And I would bet that whites have taken over BET behind the scenes if there is money to be made whites take over....)

    But there is a lot of shit in music, on TV and in the movies that is not very Christian
