Enough with this Minister crap. I watched this guy for a good two hours over the last day or so. This guy is an activist/agitator/punk in a robe. This guy is seriously angry and he did more than make fun of JFK. He mocked an awful lot of, mostly white, people.

If you had a single neron firing you would recognize that reverend Wright was not "making fun" of JFK. He was pointing out an obvious double standard in the way people are judged. When white folks speak in a cultural manner that sounds a bit funny its called an accent. When blacks folks speak in a cultural manner its called ebonics and is a sure sign of unintelligence. THAT was the point. He wasn't "making fun" of JFK. What other horrible things did he say? Let me see... Oh , yeah, Black kids and white come from differnt cultural backgrounds and historical experiences and therefore may have different learning styles. OMFG!!! No he didn't! The crazy ass white hating bigot! i can't fucking believe it! Imagine the nerve of that guy! And that Obama character is a racist bigot by association. Boy that fucking Obama really had me fooled!

I personally don't care about Mr. Wright but when he said that and please forgive me for not quoting that Obama was saying what he said he was doing it because he is running an election is sad. if that is the case then what can be said about Obama. i think Obama has to come out becuase even thought it is really of no importance in the grand sceme of things poeple care about it.

First of all, i'm a Barack Obama supporter. Now that thats out of the way:

I can't believe some of you are actually defending Rev. Wright's comments. I don't care what context these particular comments were taken out of. The man is full of hate and bitterness. I have no doubt that he's done great things for Chicago and the least forunate among us but, the man's tone is hateful. What bothers me most, these were obviously not one off comments, I think over the past few days, he's made his point very clear, in a VERY arrogant way I might add. It's unfortunate that kids have to hear this growing up in CHURCH of all places. I find it HUMEROUS that Rev. Wright speaks out against racism as being a major problem (which it is) but, he's CONTRIBUTING to it. People like him are RESPONSIBLE for it.

Not being confrontational or argumentative, just conversational, what remarks are you referring to as "hateful" or "racist"? i hear none of that. i just don't. i'll open it up to anyone else. What has he said that is "full of hate" or racist?

Some of those early clips had him saying that the white man introduced AIDS into the black population to perform genocide, and that the white man brought drugs into the black community so they could jail the adult male population.

Here's the latest from Obama (taken from MSNBC's website):
"I am outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle that we saw yesterday," Obama told reporters at a news conference.

It is funny that Obama supporters are still trying to pretend that Wright is a good guy even when Obama has bailed.

I agree with you about Hagee. That guy is a fruitloop.

I just saw the thread you posted which you prefaced with "finally..." and I agree. I'm glad to see Obama coming around and directly denouncing Wright, rather than trying to explain him. Wright is off his rocker, and is not doing Obama any favors by continuing to run his mouth.

And the Magical Mystery Tour rolls on.

    Wright is an idiot.

Wright is hateful and full of that hate; that's not an opinion, his verbage speaks for itself.

Apparently Wright wants John McCain to be the next President of the United States.

Wright apparently thinks it's more important to magnify himself and the fact that he can speak 5 languages and dance a jig at the same time than it is to lessen the inevitable damage he continues to do to his dear friend's attempt to be something the likes of which this country has never seen before.

Roll on Reverend Wright with your Magical Mystery Tour.

Are you serious? Even if one argues that his comments are not driven by racism (a weak argument, most likely), the guy is inflammatory, ignorant, paranoid, and just plain into crazy-making. What he does is not healthy.

Why are all the worst people in America Reverends?
    Rev. Jesse Jackson
    Rev. Pat Robertson
    Rev. Al Sharpton
    Rev. Jerry Falwell
    Rev. Ted Haggert
Why don't we (Americans) finally come to the conclusion that anyone who is a Reverend is basically, a psycho and we need to STOP listening to what their opinions are?

    Your examples were dead on.

The thing is, faith is not a cut and dried issue.

You can be a devout Christian who occassionally disagrees with your pastor.
I think Obama values loyalty highly, maybe too much.
It makes me like him more not less, though I think he will get smarter/jaded as they all do.

Listen you mindless tool I watched the whole speech. Im sure you saw only the soundbites. Maybe it's time to do a little re-thinking. Or how about just some original thinking. He did in fact mock JFK and alot of other mostly white people in his speech. I understood his context, but the speech came off as totally offensive, totally racist, yes racist, and extremely rude. If anyone in the White community as prominent as Reverend Wright went public and mocked or even appeared to make fun of an African American voice or tone or inflection or whatever you want to call it, the Black community would have gone absolutely apeshit and you know it. You can't have it both ways. If you are going to continue to play the race card, then it works both ways and from what I saw that man is a hater and Obama himself admitted it. Wake up.

I'm not an Obama supporter, and I'm not about to judge Wright, although I do agree with a lot of his so-called "controversial" remarks. Especially when you read or hear them in context.

Even his comment you mention above about bringing drugs into the black community has merit IMO.
