  • This walmart battle was lost a few years ago. Wal-mart won.

hmmm. i guess I could always go to Target instead of Wal-Mart. its got half the selection, and higher prices!

with K-mart not around here anymore, there aren't any more choices.
  • The last few minutes of the documentary is the best part. That's a serious amount of communities saying no to this cancer of a business.

Low prices do carry a high cost, and Wal-Marts business practices are absolutely brutal. Anti-humanity in fact. Actually it's downright disgusting beyond belief. Plantation capitalism.

The Waltons are sinister pathetic greedy creatures.

  • Capitalism is fine. Corrupt capitalism is not.

If you're going to run a monopoly don't be sinister and inhumane towards large masses of people and tell them you're helping them, while you rip their guts out.

    Simple as that.

    Awesome!!!!

Can consumers share some of the responsiblity, though? I understand that Walmart is the only place to shop in some communities, but whatever happened to hand-me-downs and thrift stores?

I think that we, as consumers, feel entitled to shiny new products. We shop where we can afford to without thinking about how the the stores manage keeping prices so low.

My mom talks about not having a tv, because they could not afford one. For many years, my school clothes were hand-me-downs that I would hand down to my sister when I grew out of them. I think parents today just go to Target or Walmart.

Why can't we go without? Walmart wouldn't be so successful if people weren't shopping there.
Walking can be a real trip
