Why Do People Hate The Jews?

It has been said that the history of almost all of the Jewish holidays can be summed up succinctly: "They wanted to kill us; we won. Let's eat."

1. Economic -- "We hate Jews because they possess too much wealth and power."
2. Chosen People -- "We hate Jews because they arrogantly claim that they are the chosen people."
3. Scapegoat -- "Jews are a convenient group to single out and blame for our troubles."
4. Deicide -- "We hate Jews because they killed Jesus."
5. Outsiders, -- "We hate Jews because they are different than us." (The dislike of the unlike.)
6. Racial Theory -- "We hate Jews because they are an inferior race."

All in all...I gotta say that killing Jesus aint too cool to have on your resume...

It's all about racism. White man in the US gov't believes they are the chosen race and wields the hammer. As does Israel. As does any racist organization thinking they are superior and should dominate. It's still all about racism at every level.

I don't hate anyone based on ethnicity or religion but I do hate the government of Israel. For some reason a young lady I met told me that made me anti semetic. Anti zionist yes, but not antisemetic.

Jews were historically picked on because of their nomadic bent. They weren't settled down as the rest of europe, and were subject to the whim of the local rulers of europe. Much like the Romani people really, although the jews were a bit more settled than that. The rulers often hired jews as their economic advisers and tax people, especially since it was held those days that real christians shouldn't be concerned with money-lending or stuff like that. The jews came to be hated, and that was usually encouraged by rulers, who then got the heat diverted off themselves.

And some people just need someone to hate I guess. The jews were handy. And maybe still are.

I dont hate jews or muslims or christians or anything really. But I disapprove of a lot of the Israeli state's actions, various islamist groups' actions, and also the christian right's actions and ideology. Disagreeing is not hating.

    Peace

BTW, we didn't kill Jesus, and according to a recent National Geographic research, Judas (which was one of Jesus students, hence, a converted Christian) was apparently told by Jesus to hand him over the Romans. This story is called the Gospel of Judas, it is very interesting.

Ok, say your Bible mumbo-jumbo actually happened. Did the Jews really have a choice in killing Jesus if it was God himself who willed it to be done? It would seem it was pre-determined by Jesus' Dad that he be sent to Earth to be put to death. The Jews would appear to be nothing more than pawns in God's plan to sacrifice his own Son.

According to who and for what reason is even that belief propagated? That is my point.

    Hey.

I'm not a religious person, so I guess its easy for me to realize both Bible and especially the New Testament were VERY edited. It is well knowen there are LOTS of other gospels / chapters which were left out of the final version, cause whoever put the whole thing together had one specific point of view. That means if someone else had been in charge, we would have probably ended with a complete different version of the New Testament.

Some quotes from a famous Christian...

"My feeling as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter."

    and...

"Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord."

    Any guesses?

Because different people have different imaginary friends and those imaginary friends tell those different groups of people that they are better than the other. Supposedly sometimes the imaginary friends even tell people to kill others who believe in different imaginary friends than they do.

A large majority of the earth's population is emotionally stunted/immature. This translates that rather than own our own emotions and garner the wisdom they contain for us to make our lives satisfying for us, we project our stunted emotions onto others. Therefore rather than own our anger, we turn it towards the other guy--we blame/hate and therefore we "give away" the emotion we don't have the skill to deal with. We stay out of touch with our natural wisdom, and our problems remain unresolved while we perpetuate the cycles.

As we learn to own and deal with our emotions, we can let them pass and then move towards problem solving. Swallowing our feelings and letting them fester causes the continual swings and backlashes we see. Healthy coping with of emotions includes feeling them fully (processing them) so that they pass and we are more wise for having felt them. When someone is acting out based on emotion, we know they have not felt their emotions and achieved the wisdom such emotion brings yet.

The Jewish people are kind of an irregularity in most places. They aren't defined so much by the Jewish religion as much as the culture that surrounds being Jewish. For instance, there are plenty of Jewish people who aren't devout, can barely speak a lick of Hebrew, and don't go to Temple, but will still refuse to marry a non-Jew. The culture of Judaism goes beyond the Torrah and their religion, it goes beyond patriotism for the country they live in, which is what made them such an appealing scape-goat for the NAZI's. Jews didn't hate Germany, but being Jewish was always more important than being German.

I don't study religion, the history of the Jewish race is something I only have a casual knowledge but growing up and going to school in New York, I've had plenty of devout, and casually religious Jewish friends.

They are always a minority and have a very strong sense of solidarity for other Jews, which always makes them an easy target.

Actually, the Jewish leadership WAS largely responsible for Jesus crucifixion, but Jesus was of Jewish heritage himself, so I don't see how that really matters. Not a reason to hate anyone. As far as the Gospel of Judas, I personally think its fairly safe to say its worthy of scepticism, at best. Although, it is on wikipedia... sheesh.

Essentially yes. Even back then, probably a lot more so than today, people were killed and opressed, manipulated etc so that the story could play out and be etched in the big book. People can fool themselves and choose to believe that everything in the bible was written by the divine hand of god. But they would be foolish to do so. Did the hand of god write all the bibles?

The church used to be the goverment. Back then people could be controlled by their conscience and through faith. Now because that isn't working anymore, people have to be controlled by police.

It's a set equation that has come up through the ages and plays out for all peoples that come together. Church and Government must control us one way or the other. As of late it has gotten out of control, and it needs to be stopped.
