    this is pretty scary.

its pretty safe to say that if he were the nominee and it came out that that is his plan, it will be a landslide victory for the dems.

He wont be, and it all depends on who the dems nominate. If they nominate Hillary Clinton, Huckabee or anyone else, wipes the floor with her. i guarantee it.

Well, there is some crazy shit, but the difference is that Romney isn't quite the religious crusader Huck is. Romney was pro-choice and was (probably still is) fairly socially liberal but is currently pandering to the party. Huck is a true believer, a Christian Soldier. That scares me more.

Romney also believes in the theory of evolution unlike several of the Republican candidates.

I was more pointing out that Romney isn't a religious zealot and more open minded than several of the other candidates then making it a campaign issue.

In another thread, someone mentioned that it didn't matter what he 'believed' in as long as he didn't try and push their values on other people. The thing is that religous zealots like Huckabee always do. That they don't accept evolution is simply the first sign of a broader and more dangerous agenda.

So is studying the evolution of AID's resistance or the evolution of antibioitic resistance of tuberculosis unimportant? Politocians such as Huckabee who don't accept science are hardly going to be supportive of important research like this (both in terms of funding and grass roots science education) which is saving peopls lives now. It has a tremendous amount of relevance to Americans.
