There is some hatred for America up here and I'd hate to see someone take that overboard. But I'm not denying it's a possibility.

well thats the trade off. does america want a tough president like bush who will do whatever takes to protect this country. or someone on the far left who will sacrifice security by getting rid of the patriot act. or not staying on the offesive against el queda.

if there is some wacko in cananda who is hell bent on suicide bombing a chemical plant. good luck. he probably wont make it too far.

I think it would be better to trade off security for good foreign relations.

Actually, not that I intend to do it, but I have spent some time thinking about it, and it really wouldn't be that hard to pull off. Anyone can order explosives on e-bay.

There is middle ground also!! A President can defend this country by fighting the right people. 9/11 happens and he attacks Iraq telling us about Weapons of Mass Destruction. Why didn't we attack the people who caused 9/11? Iraq wasn't involved it was a cover to draw our attention from the fact he had no idea where to find Osama. Osama still is out there and over 1,000 US Soldiers are dead helping a country that had nothing to do with it.
Bu$h is the worst president we have had in most of our lifetime. He is killing our youth to protect his Oil Money!!

The issue of border security between Canada and the USA has been hot for a while. That got me thinking about it. Y'all really need to protect yourselves from your numerous enemies, so I examined some of the flaws in the security and I agree, you either need to make more friends or tighten up our border.

He is a very dangerous man. He needs to stop trying to play the role of GOD. Other countrys dont like us and I can understand why. GB is a threat to everybody and he will pick on the wrong country and they will fuck us up.

Because Bush is the only leader in the world who makes decisions based off of money? Newsflash: Every leader does it. I wonder if Russia would put their financial interests aside, as well as China, and focused on the Iranian and North Korean threats, how quick it would be get real change in those countries? Probably pretty quick. But, THEY DON'T. Which is why the US has to go it alone.

You all want to live in the past and talk about Halliburton or Iran-Contra. Well, think to the future. Iran is a growing threat that we don't want to go to war with. If we had Russia and more of the EU's support, we could bring about change much faster. But we don't have their support.

Edit: Cool, I'm a 'faithfull' now.

Anyway, go back to living in the past and making jokes about Halliburton. If you really don't want to go to war with Iran, put the blame where it belongs (Europe and Asia), because we are the only ones trying do anything about them.

yea yea I know. Iraq war sucks. but he's not doing it to protect his oil money. partly the reason for america being in the middle east is to protect the commodity of oil itself. america and the world need it to function.

I believe it is our divisiveness that will lead to our downfall. Divided, we will never be able to solve our problems, let alone the problems of other nations.
I can imagine that there will be continued fingerpointing beyond 2008 regarding Iraq, for example. If the future president leaves and the place goes to Hell... which it will... then, there will be arguements that the Bush plan was the right plan and we should have stayed. If the future President decides to stay, then he will be blamed for staying. Either way... it's a losing proposition. Iraq is going to be fucked up whether we stay or we leave. I believe it's time we realized this.
I think the only way we can accel is recognizing that the person on the other side of the aisle is NOT the enemy. The enemy is the guy, sitting in an apartment in Rihad or Berlin, plotting to detonate a box filled with Anthrax in the Mall of America on Thanksgiving weekend.

    Canada!

I bet you one dude from Canada could take out major faciliities of the U.S. infrustructure. But first he/she would need a reason and the determination to actually do it. Which isn't likely to happen. Like, plant a bomb at one of your chemical research facilities there and let the anthrax fly.

not to mention the lack of security at a lot of these sites...they were targeted by homeland security as a major threat and what does this administration do? they let the industry create it's own security guidelines then let the parts be VOLUNTARY!!!!!
