I'm sorry, but I have to place blame on not only the radio station but the woman as well.

In my opinion, doing something for your kids would be putting food on the table for them. Taking them to school in the mornings...

Killing yourself for a Wii? Ehhh, not so much. I can understand people not understanding water can do that to you, but being a college dropout, I've seen the videos of cells exploding due to being overhydrated.

Your arguement does hold water though... lol I'm sorry.. I had to.

I know you sue for everything and anything in America. But how do you see the radio station for being in the wrong. She entered a contest and had a terrible thing happen to her. Do you sue if your lottery tickets lose too?

  • Water intoxification.

Just a product of people not working at their jobs enough. Stop trying to get free Nintendo Wii's and go to work and then buy one. Foolishness.

Yes I am serious. You see people fall over in all night dance contests. So if they bang their head off the floor and die, it gives them a right to sue? You see people after marathons look like they have epilepsy and lose all their body functions. Should they sue too? Come on man you have to draw the line that if you are that desperate or stupid to join a contest like that you should be waived of anything that could or does go wrong.

I believe when I heard this on the news last night that a nurse called in and said that drinking too much water can be dangerous. Secondly, it isn't like these dj's came up with this on the spot. Every contest must go through station management and lawyers. And if it wasn't then there's even more of a case for negligence.

You have to be kidding...you are going to sue a radio station for this????

Ever heard of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY? We should all start to try that again, we'd all be so much better off...except the scumbag lawyers. ;)

NO one made her do anything, it was a choice. If you don'
t stop and think about the negatives of what you are about to do, you are an idiot. Not you, the general 'You'.

good lord in heaven, i thought the only thing we had in common was our favorite team being the red wings. (that was you, wasn't it?)

if anything, the radio station should offer to pitch in some money to the family. as far as taking them to court? fucking rediculous. nobody held a gun to her head. or maybe her kids did. think about it. they hear the commercial, beg mom to try to win the god damn thing for them, she gives in under the huge pressure of her whining children, drinks a fuckload of water, dies.

  • Did the contestants sign a waiver? If so there really isn't a case. I heard that the radio station fired all the djs involved. I really hope the management gets canned as well.

What is fucking stupid and sad is if you believe that I stated that implying that I thought the kids did actually care about the game...........WOW!

Funny you should mention marathons in this thread.......it was through my running of marathons that I first learned that you could drink too much water. It probably cost about 30 minutes in one marathon. The symptoms are actually the same as dehydration.

The radio station should have done some more research prior to the actual contest and supplied the contestants with something besides just plain old water. Sports drinks, a modest amount of alcohol or drinks with caffeine would have potentially cut off any problems at the pass.

The radio station should be sued for running a potentially deadly contest without the participants knowing the risks. It was their responsibility to find out whether or not this was a safe contest. If they had made her sign a waiver that explained the risks involved in the competition, such as potential DEATH, she might have made the correct decision not to participate!

Radio stations and just anybody doing a contest like this should do there research before hand.

the radio station should have let her know the risks. they are partly responsible

I was merely stating that i thought 'it's sad that this mother died for such a stupid reason " I WAS NOT IMPLYING THAT YOU WERE STUPID & SAD,but it's hard to read someones post sometimes and be able to tell how the quote was ment to be taken, no big deal here ......but the way it reads you can see that no ??
