Production of something (a service, a book, a chair, a repair...) = work = being paid.
Cashing dividends while not producing anything = not work = being paid a whole lot more than working.
Looking for work = not work = being paid a little to not loose your home before being able to find work.
You could argue all the categories deserves the money, but surely you can't argue that only the 2nd really deserves the money?
but you are producing something when you cash dividends. You are enabling the production of all that other stuff. You are lending people money so they have the ability to produce books chairs etc. That's as important as anything isn't it? Materials aren't free. If it was easy to be a trader or hedge fund manager wouldn't everyone do it?My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -

I never said it was easy to be a hedge fund manager, it's a job I would hate, way too much pressure. But the problem, imo again, is this transfer of capital from the concrete production to the for abstract investors which is dangerous - way more than the welfare state (which could be greatly improved I think we all agree on this).0 -

what war you fighting AG? the war to become No1 nation of the world? why? why the need for a victory like that? can't you just be happy living in a great country? i know i am.oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.0 -

The founding fathers are turning over in their graves as we speak. If Obama gets elected its the end of Capitalism as we know it.
Not being a part of Socialism is what makes America great. Why do you think all the people from europe want to come here.....because Socialism does not work! You pay high ass taxes and the premiums are out the ass. In that type of goverment you are limited on your achievements. America is the land of oppertunity. So a bunch of idiots tried to live above their means and buy expensive houses. So now we have to have a whole new financial restructuring? Total bullshit.
Oh and the redistribution of wealth thing????? What a motherfucker. How dare he say that to hardworking people out there who bust their ass because they want more for their families.
The Democrat party is indeed dead. They have been for at least nine years.
Socialists?
That's some pretty funny shit coming from a supporter of Facist Corporate Republican America.
As Doug Stanhope once said.....
" At least black people knew they were slaves. You people are cluless..."
Facism has been slowly creeping into our america for a long time, now. And Facism truely gained some significant ground under this Bush/Chenney administration,.
So now Repugs are feeding their leemings the next mission statement.......
" Vote For Obama, Is A Vote For Socialism"
"Obama is a Terrorist, We Swear!!"
" Jesus Hates Obama! Believe Me When I Tell You This!"
LMAO!
Yeah, god forbid Socialism should over-throw this greedy, philty with corruption, Corporate/Capitalist Extremist agenda; being perpetrated by the Corporate Elite of the world; which has resulted in a Facist America.
What a joke.0 -

Obviously common sense will prevail but Ireland has been backed up by many millions of other countries tax money for many years, and so to reject Lisbon might be seen as a bit of 'kick to the teeth' of other Euro countries.
Again, just hypothesising, not saying it will be the case.
It's not easy getting everyone to agree. The Irish have the right to disagree and vote the way they choose. What if Scotland/UK didn't agree with something and was put in the same situation? It should be understood that countries will object to many issues and not just go with the flow.
The Irish have big balls"...believe in lies...to get by...it's divine...whoa...oh, you know what its like..."0 -

You could say something like according to US Immigration 80,000+ Europeans became naturalized in 2007, which is down from 2006 when 100,000+ Europeans were naturalized"...believe in lies...to get by...it's divine...whoa...oh, you know what its like..."0 -

Notice that the immigrants are from eastern europe. They are also migrating to western europe. They are from capitalist economies. But the mafia has taken all the wealth. This has nothing to do with socialism.0 -
Is it just me, or is Portugal the only Socialist European nation?
