I don't know the facts behind all of this, but I can tell you my GI Bill just went up. Maybe they shot down the "Webb Gi Bill" in favor of a better bill?

Don't most Hard line Rep. dislike McCain for his effort to reach out across party lines? I still say 30 years is more then enough reguardless of what party you were for. And being a POW doesn't qualify him for president, it adds too it. The guy understands better than any one else what it means to send troops in harms way. Most people don't understand what the job title of the president is. He doesn't have control of the economy, doesn't create laws, and doesn't have all this control that most people want to believe he or her has. The President is a scape goat for people to blame when shit isn't going well. Untill you truely get involved by voting for your local congress and senate, you can't bitch. They have a lot more control then people think, and its about time we held them accountable.

The Webb GI bill passed. For someone who is talking about holding Congress accountable you sure do know little about the bills that actually affect you.

Your right. I should know more about that, I dropped the ball in following that bill. After reading that artical, sorry to say it, Bush is right. I left the military for school because the payout with the GI Bill is pretty good. There are other incentives you can apply for with in the VA/Gi Bill that will pay more. The Average GI Bill payment prior to this Webb Bill was around 1100 a month for every month you're in school for full time college. I payed into an Active duty kicker which gives me (150.00), plus a Air National Guard kicker (350.00) on top of my 1100.00 a month for AD Chapter 30 Gi Bill. Thats about 1600.00 a month just to go to school full time. Now that the bill has past, it will be even more. Its a good amount of money to go to school. If that wasn't there, I would have never got out of the military. I also heard that if every one took advantage of their GI Bill or any VA benifits, the VA couldn't afford it. They just don't have the money to back it. Its really horrible to admit, but hes right.

Maybe they needed further detail about funding? And just like the artical states, they have to borrow it.

Besides that the clip is months old, all that video shows is that the campaign put an unprepared idiot on TV. If someone asked an acquaintance of yours, "what good things has "acoustic guy" done in his life?" and he couldn't answer, does that mean that you haven't done anything, or just that the guy they asked was a clueless schmuck?
An acquaintance? He is a Senator first of all not a unprepaerd idiot, and second he is supposed to be a Obama supporter. How can you support a guy you know nothing about?

"People who complain that Barack Obama lacks experience must be unaware of his legislative achievements. One reason these accomplishments are unfamiliar is that the media have not devoted enough attention to Obama's bills and the effort required to pass them, ignoring impressive, hard evidence of his character and ability."

Read more if you want to click on the link, or just ignore it like most Obama haters seem to do when provided with evidence to the contrary of their lame and unfounded arguments.

I can't view the video at work, but if it's the interview I'm thinking of, the guy is a Texas State Senator, not a U.S. Senator. Granted, he should have been better prepared; but it's not like him and Obama are co-workers or anything. Hell, their official offices are over 1,500 miles from each other. Likely, the guy couldn't even be considered an acquaintance, at least not at the time the question was asked.

Kirk Watson is a Texas State Senator, and obviously an unprepared idiot if he is willing to go on TV to talk about a guy that you don't know much about.

i just don't open youtube at work...but i wonder, is this the future? are people going to be basing their presidential choices on out-of-context youtube videos? without knowing much of the content...the where and when and why of the particular clip, how can anyone make decisions based on that? how can one take a clip, or a montage on youtube...as accurate information. it's a wee bit scary.

MY question is......how can one possibly think mccain is the answer for our country? yikes.....

Yes...and the sad thing is, the people basing their opinions on such videos probably consider themselves more informed and proactive than those who simply base their opinions on campaign commercial taglines. :D

I guess if by "horseshit", you mean "factual", I guess you'd be right.

Especially if you read this article by the National Coalition for Homeless veterans.

its sad.. the american public is being brainwashed before our eyes and they wont listen to their fellow citizens.. they are listening to media outlets. corporate sponsors and fraudulent conventions. thats what these two parties have done.. turned citizens so mush against each other they will vote for anything the other party throws their way... when in actuality BOTH THESE PARTIES HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE THESE CHANGES NOW..

    but guess what

they arent going to... because there are no changes and there is no difference between republicans and democrats.
