I'm not a McCain fan but he is far and away better than the two Dem clowns.

Okay, I really don't think that the Wright situation is that important and I feel that FOX news and "conservative news" instigates much of the sediments behind the relationship between Obama and Wright. I also watch CNN and granted they can be called "liberal news," but it wasn't talked about in the same frequency as Fox. I found the same pattern with the Eliot Spitzer scandal and how that can affect Hilary, since Spitzer endorsed Hilary. But I don't hear as much "rabble rabbles" when McCain was accused of cheating on his wife.

So I guess my inquiry here is, who really cares? Do you think it will really affect Obama's chance to win the candidacy or the general election? And do you really think it matters more if your liberal or conservative?

So my opinion is: 1. I really don't care, I think its an attack against his campaign and it will happen to all the candidates as time gets closer to the election. 2. No, I really don't think it will hurt Obama for those that already support Obama and for those that were already considering it and for those that were planning to vote for a democrat. 3. I think it only really matters to conservatives, because we(both parties) look for anything to attack in a campaign. I also believe you'll get an attack on Hilary soon about the Lewinsky Scandal and how Hilary has poor family values or some shit.

So I just wanna know what everyone's opinion is and I hope this doesn't start any personal attacks against anyone, since i believe were all open minded people.

Actually, the Republicans still don't have a chance, once the Dem debacle is finished, all the focus will be on Republicans, Bush, McCain, and the last 7 years. Once that is brought back to prominence the Dem's will be golden.

I have my own reasons for being against Obama...I've laid them all out here plenty of times. There are going to be conservatives who don't like the guy either but that doesn't mean I agree with their views. It's not such a big deal for me to get behind a winning candidate, especially if that means the things that are a big deal to me have to take a backseat when supporting the guy. It ain't gonna happen. I could give a shit less about politicians and they're pandering, manipulating ways. I care about the things I have always cared about and I have to support the candidate that best represents those views.

    It ain't Obama...not by a long shot.

  • I don't know. McCain has said he'd be okay if we were in iraq for a hundred years. Also, the fact that he wanted to go into Iraq 5 years before we actually did, that will hurt him.

look at the Primary states so far, especially the ones that voted while Romney was still in. Obama got more votes than McCain in almost all those states, even states that are traditionally Republican. In my opinion, the only person with the power to make sure a Democrat does not win in November is Hillary Clinton. And she's doing a good job of fucking it up for her party so far.

It probably depends on how the Dem nomination is achieved. If Hillary "steals" it, I can envision a lot of former Barack supporters crossing over to McCain, or at least not voting at all.

actually, the history of the last 7 yrs says otherwise.

What does that even mean? Are you saying that in the past 7 years voters have had a good memory? History of the last 7 years doesn't say otherwise. Voters have a short memory and nothing in the last 7 years refutes that.

    huh???

are you saying the dems have only been worthless in the past 7 years and before that was some golden age of where they got stuff done???

look at clinton's half assed legacy! like when he signed that clear cut rider allowing the timber industry to go into federally protected areas and cut down trees hundreds of years old if the experts the timber industry hired thought they were 'fire hazards'! among many other things.

even jimmy carter folded, didn't get shit done (had a good chance of fixing the shitty marijuana laws but blew it) and became a mockery

read my original post, I only meant golden in regards to being able to win the white house.

as for Carter, he has a great heart, but was one of the worst suited people to be president in recent years, besides Bush, but Carter did far less damage compared to Bush. So what if he didn't fix weed laws, that so far down on the things that need to be addressed.

as for Clinton, using the timber issue in regards to Dem's being worthless while in the white house, in comparison to what G W has done, especially in area's that don't get enough press, like how much he's overstepped his authorized, and trampled the constitution, the presidence that he has set will become even more of a problem when future presidents use them, and take them further.

I blame the U S voting citizen. Bush should have been thrown out in '04, but the majority was bamboozeled by the Rove once again, and to allow the Democrats congressional rep's to be so spinless during Bush's presidency, and allow the republicans to remain, this vote the Dem's will make great gains, then if they blow it, maybe more people will actually look elsewhere than putting republicans back in power.

of course there are no third party or independent candidates with any leadership skills showing up, so that's a little problem too. You don't have to have strong oratory skills like Obama to be a leader, but you do need to be able to talk and sway a majority to your side.

That was just the tip of the iceburg with Clinton's ineffective and corrupt presidency.

And Nader has more leadership skills and record proving it than the 3 mainstream candidates combined. Just go to wikipedia or where ever and read over his list of accomplishments he fought hard to win in the name of the people. There is a huge factor that hinders Nader though, corporate funding...the big bucks that sell people like Obama and Clinton to us everyday when we turn on the tv.

yes, the dems may have done less damage than the republicans but....i would rather jump into a pool of piss than a pool of shit, but that doesn't mean i like jumping in pools of piss. just saying 'they aren't as bad as the republicans' isn't a good enough reason to support them.

and there have been at least 2 ppl w/ great leadership skills showing up...kucinich and nader, but they are marginalized, trivialized and most of the time of not even allowed into the debates or ballot.

and if obama is such a great leader why hasn't he done anything to end the war? all he's given is sound bites for you all to eat up and regurgitate, but where is the legislation to get it ended? he's done nothing but continually vote to support and prolong the occupation and bloodshed. if he's such a great speaker and all that why hasn't he swayed anyone to end the war? there is no excuse, they have done nothing
