    I don't praise a man for a situation in which he feels he must act in defense of life, limb, or property. Or even his neighbor's property. I'll defend his right to act on such a situation in such a way, but that doesn't make it any less tragic. There's a difference between us, and yours is of a bloodlust toward those who you think should be feared.

    I believe Gue_Barium's point was, their race should not be an issue. Your story should have read "he is all over the news for shooting two young burglars". What the hell does their colour have to do with it? If they were white would you have said "Joe Horn is all over the news for shooting two white burglars"? Hell no. The fact that you don't see where offence could be taken in what you wrote is really indicative of everything being said here.

    I tried but she hates guns. She would rather not have them in the house but I believe that its better to have guns and not need them, then to need them and not have them.

    I never said you were racist, it just implies an undercurrent of many white americans' belief that black people are criminals because of their race and not their personality, an undercurrent based on ignorance rather than instilled racism. Tell me why exactly it was necessary to make the distinction of race and if it makes sense, I will accept. As of yet, I can't see any possible reason.

    If a newsreader read a story reading "Joe Horn is a hero across america for shooting two black people", are you telling me that the distinction of race there is irrelevant? Because that's what acoustic guy said. why not just "people"? Why the fuck does it matter what colour they were?

    would he have said "shot two white burglars" if they were white? By specifying the colour of people involved in a violent crime you end up assimilating this minority with violent crimes. And when the media does that repeatedly it does show some kind of problem. I don't think this is pc, just a basic reflex we learn to have (btw I'm not saying this is a problem with the us only)
