Chances are a not that good that Iran will nuke Israel. Chances are pretty good though, that the US and/or Israel will strike Iran to prevent them from obtaining these weapons.
For all you liberals around here that like to rage against the machince, which would you rather have: The US wielding influence in this region or the Iranian government? Once promotes freedom and capitalism, the other promotes state-sponsored intolerance of all things progressive. Your choice.
And one more thing. Why would a group of leaders such as those in Iran not use the bomb, or at least use their possesion of it to push others around in an attempt to consolidate their influence and power? Oh, that's right - becuase Bush started and illegal war in Iraq.0 -

Sadly enough all 9/11, anti Bush sentiment aside. There is some truth to this, however I think the threat is not based on home soil.
If anyone invaded US soil it would be a hellstorm. And nobody wins the nuke game. So I would say in theory yes...in reality...no.Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

and let me add something, i've learned that americans were selling weapons to France, England and also to Germany before one of their boat used to bring those weapons to Europe get destroyed. Germans had put a 2 pages warning in the New York Post some days before, telling the americans to not use a particular boat to cross the ocean between. So as they did anyway, they torpilled this last and apparently, this one was truly filled up with weapons and bombs.
Conclusion, If you don't want to get bombed, just get your ass out of problems.-"it's times like these you have to ask yourself, "what would mike mccready do"0 -

Why is it OUR choice how the Middle East runs THEIR lives? Who put US in charge of THEIR affairs?
...
Add: The U.S. has strenghtened Iran's hand in the region while weakening ours. We have accomplished for them (Iran), something the Ayatollah and 8 years of open warfare was unable to do... hand Iraq over to the Shi'ites.
Like it or not... the Iraq war plays into this thing. Bush is responsible for this situation and if you support him and/or his war... you are partially responsible, too.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

That the people of each individual country should be the ones who weild the power/influence over their own country. I know option C doesn't really exist but I can hope and dream."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -

That is such a juvenille position. I'm not name calling or trying to be a dick, but in the year 2007, how can you think that way?
The answer to your questions is simply becuase what happens there affects the rest of the world. You don't have to like it, but you need to accept the fact that we are all the inhabitants of one planet, and our self-interests are going to rub each other from time to time. We can't solve our problems until we comprehend the reality of the world in which we live.0 -

Why is it so important? Because we are addicted to the oil, that's why.
...
If it is that vital to the whole world... then, how about we (the rest of the world that is afraid of a Nuclear Capable Iran) get together and shut them out? It'll mean that the price of a barrel of oil may shoot up to 100 bucks a barrel... but, what is worse, 6 dollar a gallon gasoline or Iran with nukes?
The problem is that you want to keep the lower prices, which includes Iranian oil exports, AND de-fang Iran's Nuclear capabilities. Well, Welcome to 2007. You can't have it your way anymore.
And just because it is NOT in America's best interests means it is not in the World's best interest. We are NOT the world. Maybe Russia benefits from their buddies in Iran... maybe China will... maybe Europe. Who knows?
That is the reality of this 'Global Aspect' that you speak of. We are not leaders because we have been acting like dicks since 2003. We had that opportunity to lead... but, we blew it because of our inflated egos and abundance of our military arsenal. The guy with the most guns doesn't always make the best leader.
You talk about this whole global thing... if you walk around like an asshole, making more enemies than friends, people are not going to respect you. Respect that is demanded is never real. Command respect, don't demand it.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!

Everyobne is bangin on about Iran wiping out israel, but did it occur to anyone that Iran is probably paranoid about israel wiping them out. Maybe once the ewquation is equalised, then there will be less need for rhetoric and bombast. Pakistan and India have ballanced each other, both having nukes.
Of course, I would much rather no-one had them, but lets face it, in the great era of disarmament, teh US held on to all of theirs.
