    well take the First Amendment to the United States Constitution that guarantees the right to peaceful assembly.During the last 2 election there were protests at both the democratic and republican national conventions.The police erected a steel "cage" fence with razor wire around the top located a 1/2 mile from where the conventions took place and labeled it a "free speech zone" and surrounded it with police in riot gear brandishing machine guns and told you if you wanted to protest you had to go in it.They pepper sprayed & arrested many peaceful demonstrators who were merely trying to exercise their constitutional rights.

    Clinton did the samething to the protesters at the 96 Chicago DNC convention. I think that is crap too.

    The one thing that I find funny after every election, is that the party that wins is always about uniting. Now that they have the power, they are willing to join together. Much easier to say that when you have free reign.

    Some of the left was definitely out of bounds with Bush, but I think that most of the hatred was built after years and years of actions. The hate for Obama from the start is a little ridiculous. One look at the hannity or fox news boards and it's clear that there is no shortage of hate on the right.

    Calling socialism socialism isn't hate. I have yet to read F Obama on any boards. I have read F Bush many times on this board.

    my firends ... our economy hasn't be a PURE capitalist society for a very VERY long time.

    Remember it was John McCain's hero, REPUBLICAN, Teddy Roosevelt, that instituted the progressive tax system.

    It was Ronald fucking Reagan that championed the Earned Income Tax Credit. Indeed, returning money to people who pay no income taxes.

    Patriots don't run and hide..maybe that is your solution but not mine.

    I'm sick of people thinking we should be grateful for what we have and not be concerned with what we're losing!!

    It's been a very very long time since i have felt any kind of hope for us as a nation and us as individuals. Mr. Obama gave that word back to us last night. Can't even begin to describe the the chills and good feelings i got when this was announced. I was so touched by his speech and i really feel we got a fresh lease on things. A new beginning! I can finally be proud to say my presidents name.

    The country's spending has been more socialist in the last yr under Bush than it has been in the nations history. Yet we still have republicans pointing at Obama as a socialist. Really doesnt make sense....
