from her favorite surrogate... her daughter.
christians, repubs, you can actually defend this and still claim she has good family values?
proof positiveabstonance only is bullshit.
also, doesn't say much for her parenting skills if she can't keep her own daughter from getting knocked up.

WOOHOO lets all drag a teenage girls' personal life through the mud for political gain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta point out that hypocracy of the other side while ignoring our own!0

Amazing. I guess the spin will be - look, she didn't have an abortion.
OMG, it IS Juno in Juneau...0 -
geez, you people act like getting pregnant is the worst thing that ever happened to anyone ever. i get that republicans are selfrighteous asses who think they are above it all, but come on. do you really care that her kid is knocked up?0

It's the hypocrisy - that the Republicans are morally right and Democrats aren't.
I feel sorry for the girl - and what was her mother thinking, agreeing to the VP thing and knowing this would come out? I think that's way creepy.0 -

Leave the poor girl alone and just ignore the fact she is holding her newborn in January during her mother's swearing in. Shhhh, be polite and dont ask any questions...........they can just claim they found it on the doorstep and adopted it....shhhhh0

I hear ya. this is, by the way, the logic I used when republicans were creaming their jeans over john edwards affair. That was a lapse in his character and this is a clear lapse in her character. So If we are pointing out flaws, let's do them all.
and yeah, I care. No person under the age of 18 should have kids! It's even a bad idea for anyone under 25. When you couldn't turn on the TV or stand in a grocery line without hearing about britany spears sister pregnancy I held it to the same standard. I never heard anyone say ANYTHING negative about it. I was horrified! When you have a kid, your life as you know it is basically over. It's not all about you anymore.
if you haven't done anything in life and you aspire to do so, it's 100x harder with a baby to take care of. anyone who has a kid before they are financially secure is nuts, period! Repubs harp on and on about people on welfare and then they give Palin and Spears a pass?
THIS IS HOW PEOPLE GET ON WELFARE!!
I haven't even touched on the whole abstinance thing which I vehimently disagree with given the reality factor...
and Palin has proven me right.0 -

people survive everyday after getting pregnant. it sucks sure, but i dont think its that high on the issues scale for me, and i doubt it matters much to republican voters unlesss she gets an abortion.
If democrats think the republicans have a monica lewinsky scandal on their hands, they are sorely mistaken.0 -

so, sex before marriage is off the bad list? news to me! I'll ask my southern baptist relatives about that.
And population is not a major issue? If you haven't noticed it's getting pretty crowded here. It's actually the reason I'm adopting and not having biological children.
and yes, It's not anywhere near the Lewinski thing, however it's good for people headed to the voting booth with all the information that might affect their decision based on their values. Something they cannot seem to shut up about come election time.
voting just because because of party is fine, just know you're a hypocrite if you think it's for values or whatever. don't pretend it's for any other reason.0 -

I suppose editing the bible to suit personal purposes in the age of the neocon has become the norm.0 -

Being a Christian doesn't mean being perfect.
I'm sure there are plenty of parents and non-pregnant teens who are more (for lack of a better term) fucked up than Palin or her daughter.

Fuck editing it. I'd suggest wising up, realizing it's a farce and disregarding the piece of shit altogether!2000: Pittsburgh

it might be time for that little girls creepy dad to stop sneaking into her room on those cold alaska nights, mabey then she could stop popping out babies and having her mother lie to cover up their little "family secret'........ hey, this making up total bullshit and seeing what sticks is pretty easy, I could work for karl rove...... obama is a sleeper cell terrorist... obama is the antichrist..... that was easy enough, so why not pin the Palins as child molesters? that IS how the game is played now right?0

so, the oldie but a goodie "to err is human" eh? alrighty then. It would be refreshing for a christian to lead by a good example rather than by their fuck ups.jhinkle1114 wrote:Fuck editing it. I'd suggest wising up, realizing it's a farce and disregarding the piece of shit altogether!

No. Thankfully Obama is much better than that.
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/09/01/obama-palin%E2%80%99s-family-off-limits/MONROE, Michigan (CNN) – Barack Obama told reporters firmly that families are off-limits in this campaign, reacting to news that Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old daughter is five months pregnant.
“Let me be as clear as possible,” said Obama, “I think people’s families are off-limits and people's children are especially off-limits. This shouldn't be part of our politics. It has no relevance to Gov. Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a vice president.”
Obama said reporters should “back off these kinds of stories” and noted that he was born to an 18 year-old mother.
“How a family deals with issues and teenage children, that shouldn't be the topic of our politics and I hope that anybody who is supporting me understands that’s off-limits.”
The Illinois senator became aggravated when asked about rumors on liberal blogs speculating that Palin’s fifth child - Trig - is actually her daughter Bristol’s. A Reuters report Monday quotes a senior McCain aide saying that Obama’s name is in some of posts, “in a way that certainly juxtaposes themselves against their 'campaign of change,’”
“I am offended by that statement,” Obama shot back, not letting the reporter finish his question. “There is no evidence at all that any of this involved us.”
“We don’t go after people’s families,” Obama said. “We don’t get them involved in the politics. It’s not appropriate and it’s not relevant. Our people were not involved in any way in this and they will not be. And if I ever thought that there was somebody in my campaign that was involved in something like that, they’d be fired.”2000: Pittsburgh

yet another reason to vote for him! beyond class act! and before anyone says "what else could he say" he could have said "i have no comment on that issue" instead he spoke from the heart as a man with 2 daughters!0 -
Bristol is old enough to have unprotected sex, she's old enough to deal with the responsibilities that come along with it. I don't feel sorry for her. She made her decision, she's going to marry the guy and deal with it like pregnant women have since the dawn of time.
It's pathetic that 17 year old girls are getting pregnant, fucking up their education/college, but she wants to keep it and that's her right.~*~Me and Hippiemom dranketh the red wine in Cleveland 2003~*~

She has a lifelong commitment ahead of her and she surely has to deal with it. Do people really believe in abstinence, do they?
