definition of liberals vs conservatives

here's what i'd say is the difference between the two:

let's say there is an incident where cops - white cops - beat the crap out of a black guy, or even kill a black guy (this happens every now and then in america)

conservatives will ALWAYS side with the white cops

liberals will ALWAYS side with the black guy

and it doesn't matter what the details of the incident are......even if the black guy was walking down the street minding his own business and cops shot him 800 times, conservatives will STILL say "hey, the cops are just doing their job. he matched the description of a criminal and he was resisting arrest, etc"

or, even if the black guy was running down the street stabbing old ladies and setting babies on fire, liberals will STILL say "the only reason the cops shot him is because he was black. if he had been a white frat boy in khaki slacks, they would have gently put cuffs on him and escorted him into the police car, etc"

just something i've noticed.

Basic Rule of Thumb... Never say 'Never'... and never say 'Always' when making generalizations.
Example:
Let's say a big Black Guy wearing a Heavy Raiders Jacket in the middle of Summer and all gangsta'd out or a psycho White Guy with a shaved head and a swastika tattoo on his chest walks up to you and starts wailing on your ass.
Do you blame him or accept his actions as normal?
What does that make you, Liberal or Conservative?

You need to get out more and start viewing people as individuals instead of groups.

When conservatives are screw-ups or failures, they know it's their own fault and responsibility.

When liberals are screw-ups of failures, it's society's fault and responsibility.

must say i agree with cosmo here. there is no 'never' or 'always'....b/c it is entirely dependent on the situation at hand, whether a conservative or a liberal....at least imho.

actually, i like incandescent bulbs...;)
i have all these funky lights with all these differing sized bulbs, and yea..i just can't stand fluorescent light. i keep saying we need to make the switch, but we haven't yet. we DO use really low watt bulbs, and actually, don't turn on that many lights. my hsusband always refers to our home as the 'cave'...hahahaha. i also am a BIG fan of candlelight, but even those can use oil in their manufacture, unless you really look at ingredients, and/or buy beeswax or soy candles.


anyway, i really despise the term 'you people'......b/c it rarely ever, truly means what it insinuates. then again, labels may be really handy for putting people into handy little boxes/ categories...but they rarely hold up to scrutiny imho.

i use the term "you people" friendly here, because us cons feel as "us people" here i agree that labeling is kind of a joke...but i'm a conservative on a board that leans left. i'm assuming that most of you view conservative voters as gay-lynching fanatics...just pointing out that labeling is a means to shut down debate to make us hate each other instead of listen.

as far as the light bulbs go,,,i don't see how the new one's are more helpful to the environment...they have mercury in them. so you are replacing CO2 (which trees omit) for mercury...which is supposedly the worst thing since trans-fats.
