I have no malice, Ive had contact with jews but never on a level to discuss issues relating to this thread.
To suggest that they are less inbred as a factor for their "success" I see as fallacy, a similar argument could be concocted for many other peoples.
I concede that I do associate jews in some way with being clever.
That given when I was at (a catholic) primary school the word jew was parlance for being tightfisted, on the other hand I can recall later when I was 15yrs or so a swastika being used by nobs who were unaware of its link to a jew;it to them represented dislike for "pakis"(it being a hindu symbol-oh the irony)or blacks.

I would associate the "success" ,, as previously mentioned by somebody on this thread , to the need to be clever to survive maybe on a level that other races havent had to. Cannot be sure because I simply know little of their history........

Here is some insight from an actual Jewish dude!

Education has always been stressed by my family, and the families of my jewish friends....much of this has to do with the fact that I come from a family of Holocaust survivors, so my relatives wanted us to have opportunities denied them as a result of being in concentration camps.

My dad would never spring for fancy stuff, but when it came to education, his wallet was always open.

Most of my relatives are successful because it was driven into our heads that we would all go to college. I consider myself lucky to have been raised that way, since I now have a good life.

Success has come to my family both financially and academically, so not all of us are lawyers and accountants....some are academics/teachers.

As for the "cleverness", I am a pretty funny guy, but I have no idea how I got to be that way!

The importance should be on understanding the intent of the person making the statement. How a person interprets that intent is irrelevant to the actual intent.

wow, this thread smacks of anti-semitism!!! any ethnic group tends to bond together, and look out for each other, why don't you ask why there's a china-town in almost every major city in north america? why don't you question their 'immunity'. we all form groups, whether it's based on religion, race, country of origin, or common interests.

and while i'm at it, i might as well stop saying 'them' and start saying 'we', i have NEVER ONCE enountered a break because i was jewish, i had to deal with anti-semitism all my life, when i travel, in many parts of the world, i am afraid to tell people what my religion is, and i have grown up knowing that 80% of my family was brutally tortured and murdered after years of suffering solely because of their religion. i am greatly saddened by the fact that some people still think that there is a 'jewish conspiracy', and that we have it easier. i wish i could have grown up protestant, it would have saved me a lot of pain and trouble, and would have saved my family from tragedy. my family came to this country fleeing religious and political persecution, with nothing, my mom had one suitcase, with a few summer dresses, and didn't speak the language, she worked her ass off, teaching art, and learning english at night. so don't you tell me that jews have an unfair advantage. a work ethic is emphasized in our culture, because we know that we're never going to be given any breaks, and we never know when we're going to have to run away from the next opressor, and a strong set of skills will be helpful in the next place. i can't believe that people still hate so much.

If a people wants to be accepted, they shouldn't confine themselves in solitude where the threat of discrimination is lightly perceived. Rather they should face it head-on and represent a non-stereotype. You don't propagate understanding by hiding, all you do is raise suspicion.

There will always be ignorance on the message board...people feel the need to come up with theories, even though they base it all on what they read in a book, see on television or overhear from ignorant people.

People like to blame their failures on others, which we have seen throughout history.

OUR people will always have to live with the misconceptions of others....we have always had a disadvantage, but yet we have flourished in many ways.

If people want to try and figure "us" out, let them.....we know the truth, and thats what matters!

and ive complained to the mods and it continues. anti jewish dialogue is common place and accepted on this board
