While I fully agree, this is horrific and brutal ... but, let's put a hint of perspective on this as an issue in November.

Can we please agree that the savagry in the middle east is far more an important topic in this election than the savagry being done to these wolves?

These are valid issues. I for one am completely disturbed by Palin's views on the environment. Those issues include this and the polar bear issue, not to mention the fact that she denies global warming is man-made.

That said, the middle east is also a valid point of contention against her.

I did *not* say it was invalid ... I just stated that the issues in the middle east were more important than those of wolves.

Meaning, I would not want the Obama campaign to "run with this" as some sort of tactic against Palin. He needs to focus on McCain.

  • Christ. I am not clicking on that link, but I have read up on this bullshit.

Soon they'll have internet hunting. Point and click on a satellite map of a herd of animals, and a laser-guided shell comes out of the sky to make the kill. The staff retrieves the kill, sends you the trophy and fillets the meat for you.

Looks like even you can shoot animals from the comfort of your couch! How fun!

This reminds me of Cheney's hunting "accident." Driving around in a truck where they wait for you to let caged birds with clipped wings out for you to shoot out. What skill!

I'm not generally opposed to hunting, but these kinds of events are brutal!

I know what you mean, but for some people this is just as big of an issue as Iraq. I don't want to go down the road of wolves vs. human beings. It's not about that. The environment is a big issue for the future, as is Iraq.

indeed, and I said it was horrific (even provided a link with further information) ... and I never said WE shouldn't talk about it ... all, I said people need to weigh the priorities.

I truly feel the Obama campaign is/was spending a little too much time with Palin ... I think it will curtail and he'll let all the hawks that support him go after her.

I just don't want to see the Obama campaign spend one dollar on an ad with this info, save the ad $$$ for his message, how it differs from McCain and linking McCain to Bush ...

This seems like an issue where "viral marketing" will get this message out there ...

totally agree....we as voters can/should discuss this but the campaign will need to move on to the bigger issues
  • We don't know Shit about Palin. So the more information we get on her the better.

I personally don't like hunting, fishing is another story, but I feel that if you are going to hunt you should at least be fair. Man up and use a bow and arrow or a spear. None of this perched up on a hunting platform in a tree with a rifle, or in a plane as the guy in the video. That's just being a pussy if you ask me.
Exactly, if you're a tough hunter guy, level the playing field. Don't get up in a fucking plane and chase the poor thing.

    Fucking pussies.

Another thread crying and whining about hunting imagine that.
  • Not really surprising since she is fundamentally backward and anti-science on almost every issue. Global warming, conseravtion, resource managment, evolution- the list goes on.

No one should be hunting wolves. Period. They are apex predators with slow rates of reproduction and complex social structures. But its the other more subtle consequences of this sort of thing which are often the most serious. Because the removal of apex predators such as wolves has significant consequencss for other more fundamental aspects of an areas ecology.
