Venezuela buying arms for terrorists

Now Rumsfeld is accusing Chavez of possibly buying arms so he can give them to terrorists. This would be laughable if it wasnt serious and part of this adminstrations' pattern of branding anyone and anything it doesnt like a "terrorism threat".

Whoa! Harsh man!
Bush can't run for a third term can he?I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire0 -
"Other countries in the region are worried that the weapons could end up in the hands of terrorists, Rumsfeld told reporters Monday, adding, "I can understand neighbors being concerned"
From the article you sourced. But as par for the course, its only Rummy and big bad Bush you focus on. Nevermind the fact that Hugo's own neighboring countries are worried as well.
"Venezuela's recent deal to buy roughly $3 billion worth of arms from Russia — including rifles, jet fighters and helicopters — is triggering "more concern from more countries."
Yeah, why worry?Why go home

Yeah, why worry?
so they're worried he's going to give jet fighters to terrorists?? if their neighbors are concerned why can't they say so? or is this like when we bribed all the oas countries to not trade w/ cuba anymore in exchange for new/increased aid?
as par for the course you left these quotes out:
Meanwhile, Craddock and other officials said Monday that they don't see a credible threat in Venezuela's call for the creation of an anti-U.S. military coalition with other leftist countries in the region. Craddock said Brazil's defense minister told the gathering he doesn't see a need for a regional military organization.
Gen. Moises Omar Hallesleven, the commander of the Nicaraguan military, told U.S. reporters he is not concerned about the Chavez effort.

concerned neighbours my arse. rumsfeld is only concerned cause it will mean a US invasion of venezuela will be that more difficult if caracas actually has a way to defend itself. obviously washington thinks that after the mountain of lies they've already told, we'll believe anything. either that or they truly believe everything they say is the truth. idiots.hear my name

Last time we took an enemy lightly, they knocked down two big tall buildings of ours. Noone took lil osama and his crazy rantings seriously during the clinton era, nor during the first few months of the Bush Jr. era. Look how that turned out. So, I'm figuring, IF they're worried, they arent going to want to make too big a deal, so as to avoid undue panic/paranoia amongst the public. And a Nicaraguan military official saying he's not concerned about Chavez is more of a "machismo" slap in the face to Chavez, and chest thumping. As par for the course, you fail to see the big picture. I'd rather they "worry unecessarily" about a fat little Venezuelan than not worry at all, and wish they had.Why go home

sounds like paranoia to me.
was it the us or chavez who broke the icbm treaty and nuclear non-proliferation treaty? is it chavez or the us that supplies more than 50% of the arms to the 3rd world? is it chavez or the us who have actually carried out several coups of democratically elected leaders?
so again, you are worried chavez will sell a terrorist a jet fighter?standin above the crowd

Nowhere in the article does it quote another country actually saying they are concerned, just RUMSFELD saying there are such concerned nations. Par for the course, you still believe the filth coming out of Rummy's mouth.War is Peace

No, im not worried at all. Because I know our leaders arent taking ANY threats lightly anymore. Let him yap his yap, let him brag, in the end, if his own people won't set him straight, we will. So no, im not worried one bit. Much like you guys love giving the http://www.goarmy.com link, may I suggest you all just go there and support him directly? can you cite a single post here that has said anything close to that?
that being said jlew24asu raped my dog and cats. there, i need no proof, i'm just like he government, i can blame anyone i want and never have to worry about backing it up.
no one is saying usama is a great guy or someone we trust to never tell a lie. this administration, however seems addicted to lying. so there is nothing wrong w/ asking for proof from the mouth of a liar. what proof is there? i don't understand why he'd lie in person than make some confession tape where he's heavier than he has ever been, is writing w/ his wrong hand and wearing gold which is forbidden and you'd think he would follow the rules being surrounded by a bunch of religious fundies. that's like jerry falwell wearing an ac/dc or led zeppelin shirt aroundstandin above the crowd
