Someone should put Vick and one of the dogs in a cage and let THEM go at it, and then drown the loser

not at all... i just cant imagine anyone being able to drown, electrocute, hang, or shoot a dog for any reason... it makes fighting them seem tame somehow?

before we all go crucifying this man, the key word is allegedly

he's still innocent until proven guilty and give him his day in court

$20 says he is found guilty of something involving the mistreatment of animals...where there is smoke, there tends to be a fire

I'm not saying he won't be convicted, I'm just saying let the judicial system run its course

that one you can blame on the jury that was already biased before the trial was even brought to court

It looks like most of their evidence is based on testimony of some douchebags who also participated in the dogfights. The feds were so desperate to get Vick that they paid off some criminals.

Davon Boddie ( Vick's cousin who lived on the property) was mysteriously not named as one of the four people charged in the indictment. Chances are he has already flipped for the prosecution and is telling the feds everything they need to know. They knew exactly what to look for and where to look for it. There is no doubt in my mind the feds wanted Vick all along but from all the information that is available, The United States of America vs. Mike Vick is the real deal.

i head on the radio that this federal district has a 95% conviction rate of charges that make it to trial. They do not mess around. They are very careful in looking at the evidence and deciding who to charge. He's innocent right now, but looking at things, there's a lot pointing to him.

I fail to see how this is a matter for the Federal Government to be involved in.
This is something that should be left to the state to handle.
This just proves that nothing is out of the realm of the Feds, all under the guise of interstate commerce.

I believe it is a matter for the feds, since he crossed state lines with this. I may be wrong though.

the smoking gun has the indictment posted. feel free to read it there. If he did travel b/t states to make money and did so illegally of course it becomes a federal , interstate commerce issue.

Vick will "more than likely" be prosecuted by local authorities. I don't know if the locals of Surry County Virginia have the resources to go toe to toe with the dream team of lawyers Vick is sure to assemble.

Another interesting point raised elsewhere is that if Vick was gambling and winning, he probably wasn't claiming income. The IRS might have something to say about that, and he could get charged wth tax evasion as the cherry on top.

I have no doubt this activity crossed state lines. In my opinion, activity related to dogfighting is not something the Federal Government should be involved in.
The Feds have assumed far more power than originally intended by tying everything, however tenuous, to interstate commerce.
