    My heart and thoughts go out to the family and friends who knew and loved Laura so much and are missing her deeply. I didn't know her as well as some of you did. What I remember most in these last couple years of getting to know her a little is the openness and warmth she always showed me, her sense of humor, and her always-thoughtful gestures. As Brent said, she was indeed one sweet soul.

    I have been off the board for a bit and it was quite a shock to learn that Laura has passed on. She was so beautiful, articulate, and always a voice of reason and inspiration. I know I will truly miss her posts, humor, and incredible and vast knowledge on so many things. Love and peace to her family-- she always said how proud she was of you all. I'll make a donation to Habitat for Humanity in her name.

    Like Suzanne, I haven't been on the board for quite a while, so I just learned about the big changes...

    all my love is sent to the family and friends of this wonderful lady,
    who is missed so much.

    I experienced Laura as one of the smartest, funniest and nicest people ever,
    and so without her something is missing indeed.

    I need to thank her over and over again for all she helped me out and brought me further... even so it's been a while that I am on her way.

    so I just wish....

    I just wanted to say Merry Christmas to Hippiemom's family and let them know that we are thinking of them. Also, to everyone that she touched which is quite a few people. Love her and miss her. :)

    I thought about her last night and today.

    That's why I wasn't upset about not getting my kids any presents this year and was thankful for our health and still having a roof.

    But anyway... Hippiemom's family were in my thoughts as I'm sure everyone else too.

    i've been thinking about laura, and her family, a LOT. it breaks my heart. no matter what, i would feel the same, but i guess especially around the holidays...it's even more palpable.

    I'm at a loss for words...this was the last thing I was expecting to come here and read today. It's just not fair.

    Laura's light here and in life was just so rare and special. Her spirit and fire were unmatched. I will miss and be thinking of you always my dear friend.

    Wow...I really don't know what to say...i may not have always agreed w/ her but she always stuck to her guns...she was always a true friend who could easily put differences aside and be there for somebody...it sounds cliched but there really wasn't anyone like her

    You will be missed Laura, you were a true friend to all of us. My heart goes out to her close friends and family. Perhaps we can all reflect on this difficult time and come to realize how small and insignificant our daily trials are compared to the hardships this woman faced over the last few years.

    Hippiemom was always really nice to me.

    That's the best way I can say it, and it's how I will always remember her.

    I'm so sorry to hear the news. Hippiemom was a class act and a wonderful person to converse with. My thoughts go out to all of those who loved her.
