The Bush supporters dont listen to reason or have thoughtful discussions. While most left wingers try to explain and basically go "Look!! Look what you're doing!!" The right just says "No we're not" while continuing to do so.

They just want us to talk, debate and discuss til we're blue in the face while they happily fuck up everything for their own benefit. They don't even bother trying to come up with decent excuses any more. So fuck 'em. The time for discussion really has passed.

Just to note, I dont think the fan's question said, "ed, as you know some of your fans are huge ardent bush supporters" and ed replied "fuck em" .

That would make some sense

He asked about fans disagreeing in what seemed to me a more general way.

Remember, conservative does not = pro bush. Ed and many of you would do well to open your eyes, and realize that.

That's why I specified Bush supporter. Bush is not a conservative in anywhere near the true sense of the word. You can be a conservative without pissing all over other people's basic human rights. Bush and his administration have no interest in acknowledging that, which is why I have no respect for them or anyone who supports them. This goes beyond Dem vs. Rep, people should be outraged from both sides.

Some people around here (very few) talk about tolerance and understanding...but then when it comes to an opposing viewpoint...they make mean spirited rash generalizations and oversimplifications about those opposing viewpoints...and they say things like "fuck em". That makes no sense. You can't have it both ways. You either have the cognitive reasoning skills to understand that most people here are not blood thirsty war mongering neo"fucks" / suv blowing up tree spiking "communists"...or...you don't. We all preach rhetoric every now and again...but most of us here realize that we're all pretty much decent human beings with quite a bit in common. To sit here and preach about tolerance, and then not be willing to communicate and SHOW that tolerance in return just reeks of an unwillingness to practice what you preach.

Perhaps Ed would say..."If you hate something, don't you do it too."

And that goes for liberals and conservatives alike.

True. I have always enjoyed my conversations with you, cincy, zstillings and even ncfan (who is pretty hardcore) even though we have different views on a wide variety of issues and topics. Unfortunetly we seem to be quickly becoming a minority on this board.

Furthermore, what did Katrina have to do with anything conservative? In my opinion, the people that really screwed that up were the Democrats in power in NOLA.

The federal government dropped the ball as well. Katrina was a total screw up on the local, state, and federal level.

Funny, I always ask myself, did I go to far with that response or think: I hope that wasn't too offensive. I know I can be quite the smartass occasionally. Anyways, its good to know I'm not included in the 'intolerant assmunch' catagory.
