i've been saying the same thing and posting links for about 3 years now. in those cases; posting links only yielded links of opposing opinions and arguments about which was right. i'm tired of talking until somebody hears.
I can understand that. You need to adapt and find a new approach. For instance, one good way is to start a topic by dumbing down the subject. You get a lot more replies that way, therefore a lot more readers, and a lot more potential for people reading what you have to say.

why is this news to anyone? alaska has been evacuating coastal towns due to rising waters for several months. coastal towns in the northeast us have been working on an evacuation plan as the rising waters eat away the shoreline. london has determined that a sea wall around the city would be too costly and is now working on a plan to move the city inland.

first; i don't like oprah. she's a bigot. but the only show i watched in the last 20 years interviewed someone being evacuated/relocated in alaska. being a fishing town; they have plenty to eat. the relocation will cause hunger because the rising water is shallow. not deep enough for a boat as their bay is.
Move. That's what I'd do if where I lived was going to be underwater. There wouldn't be a single loss of life if people acted sensibly.
It is very difficult for people to just get up and move. Bangladesh for instance is one of the most vulnerable areas to climate change and sea level rise but the vast majority are incredibly poor. Its not easy to just get up and go. Many people do not have the luxury of making that decision so easily.

I agree but it happens all the time. We need look no farther than Sudan to show that we are not interested in widespread humanitarian efforts unless there is benefits back home. How do you educate those who are illiterate, uneducated, malnourished and desperate as it is? If shit hits the fan, we may see hundreds of millions of refugees who are displaced. It will be incredibly difficult to move and accomodate all of these people who are struggling as it is. I agree with you that we should be looking at looking towards adaptation and planning, but many countries are barely able to function as they are let alone tackle such a daunting problem.
