I'd prefer we didn't have enough federal tax revenue to pay for Iraq or 35,000 schools.
so how would we pay for schools, roads, etc etc etc?
i don;t have a problem paying taxes. i have a problem with my taxes funding illegal wars, bridges to nowhere in Alaska, Pig Museums, and other bullshit earmark projects.those undecided, needn't have faith to be free0 -

"Your" as in that which you advocate. I'm still trying to figure out what that is as well.0 -
Constitutionally, it is illegal for the Federal Government to build schools. It is not one the enumerated powers that it has.
It does have the power to go to war, but it needs a declaration from Congress. Therefore, this war isn't allowed. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal.

PEPPER wrote:No, what we need is a school system that holds the teachers we have accountable for the low graduations rates. Rather then pushing them thru the system they should actually do there jobs. Maybe instead of getting the summers off require them to work with the "troubled" kids. You may think I am nuts but I am sure everyone can think back to there school days and remember a group of teachers that sucked......look at me, I have a terrible time deciding what there/their to use (but I know thats my own fault)
Haha are you kidding?? No body wants to be teachers as it is, shitty pay and whatnot, what makes you think holding them responsible for the lazy ass kids who can't graduate HIGH SCHOOL (MY GOD ITS SO EASY) will help the school systems??DC '03 - Reading '04 - Philly '05 - Camden 1 '06 - DC '06 - E. the long term benefits possible from building new schools as opposed to the long term damage done by this war.
