     OP cared so much about her original comment, she modified it 4 years afterwards. Then disappeared from AMT forever. Without recycling we'd never know this little tidbit of information

    the oldest threads i can find are from 2006. there is nothing in the time just after 9/11 or in the leadup to the iraq invasion. those were good times on this forum.

    i think you are correct. we lost a lot of good posters when that happened. i think it was better then because we had people from all over the world, of many different faiths and cultures and views, and i think their voices are missed. by me at least. i can say with certainty that i never learned so much on this forum as i did back then. now it is basically 30 white americans and a handful from canada.

    The movie that inspired this thread, Goodbye Lenin, is awesome. It's one of my faves - I even have it on DVD. Highly recommend.
