Clearly, it's something that I'll "come around to." You know, because I didn't buy it the day it was released, or anything. And I didn't have it on constant rotation for about a year. It just needs more time than 8 years, right?
It's not that I don't like Binaural. I just enjoy ITW more.
In fact, my favorite song on Binaural is Soon Forget, which would fit quite nicely into an EV solo setlist with the ITW songs. As would Of The Girl.
I agree. "Into The Wild" exceeded my expectations.

i bought No Code 2 yrs later...
took me about that long to appreciate No Code, maybe even longer...and probably a few years to where Binaural eventually became my favorite album.
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
apples and oranges. eddie really knows how to capture a feeling. the very underrated man of the hour single was perfect for the movie Big Fish and Into the Wild perfectly caught the tone of the movie as well. He has done stellar work on both. But you really cant compare his solo work with the PJ work. Come on now.
Though I don't want to get in the argument proposed by the original poster (how can you compare a full CD to a soundtrack that has about 30 minutes of actual music?) ...
I will say this: At the risk of generalizing, if you don't like Into the Wild, then you are probably an idiot. You don't get the lyrics. You don't get the poetry. You don't get how they relate to the movie. And it makes Jesus cry.

Certainly this is true. But, that doesn't mean it's not fun to debate the merits of the albums.

Id rather listen to a short album of great music than a long album with some filler and songs I dont like.

Utterly, completely, positively. WRONG.
I WAS WAITING FOR YOU TO SAY SOMETHING.
