Why now? ... where has he been for the past year? what is his purpose? Is his only intent to bring up bad policy and bad voting records of the candidates? Which we all know that is easily spun away, smiled and cleared by any good politician? To bring up policy and acts that should be a part of our country... but are just a pipe dream? This man is lobbyist... obviously working towards the priorities of big think tanks and corporations... he may have been once a man with great ideals... but now I'm just beginning to think he is just another puppet/ schill ...

  • this guy is a fucking joke.

anyone who votes for him probably thinks "green party" has something to do with weed.

close Dem race and to pull voters away... and whom would be at the heart of from benefiting his announcement of his candidacy?

I know the man is not conventional... but for christ sake.. not fucking getting my vote this time around
  • Is it really that late to announce his candidacy?

I tried looking up when past candidates have announced but couldn't find a list of dates. Anyway, I feel like this just seems so late because the Democrats started campaigning so early this year.

no its not to late... fuck put my god name on the ballot... hell i'll write myself in as presidential canidate...

I just think if this man was completely serious about fucking being president (again) he may have had momentum...

only thing I can see he is the "no" vote against parties...

Nader has lost it. I predict no one will talk about him after a couple of days. Getting enough signatures to appear on the state ballots -- no way this time. I used to like Nader but now I almost feel sorry for him. There are many ways to get out his message than run for president every 4 years.
  • he hgot .3 percent of the vote last time, he'll get less this time around. And i bet most of those votes would never vote for a democrat anyway, so i think he's a non-issue.

i think if he really cared he would find a younger guy (one who isnt 73!) with similar beliefs to support.

This is the most ignorant statement that I've ever read on here.

  • Just stop Ralph!

I think the guy comes from a good place. Most of us like to mix it up a little bit. But he is hurting America by doing this.

In 2000, I was convinced I was doing the right thing by voting for Nader. I was convinced that I couldn't vote from anyone from the 2 headed GOP/DNC monster.

I don't know what people were thinking if they voted for him in 2004.

But, for the first time since I have been an adult, there is a canidate out there who inspires people. A canidate who can get the house and the senate to cross party lines and work together. That is THE most important thing to me when I vote.

As far as Nader, he started this late in 2004 as well.

well, when he ran for President in 2000, he announced his candidacy in February, and I believe he did the same in 2004. i don't question his timing... especially when it's an independent run. but i do question his candidacy this time around, because i think its beyond ridiculous. maybe he idolizes Eugene Debs too much, because that guy ran for President 5 times... so I guess that means we'll see Nader 2012 as well?
  • This guy's a putz. Waits all this time and then says hell with it.. he's throwin his hat in. Where has he been? He's just gonna fuck it up for the Dems again. lol

Well, least Ed has a candidate in the race now. LMAO!!!!!!

really tho, the green party does have something to do with weed.

these are the last three statements on their platform for Criminal Justice:

    28. We call for decriminalization of victimless crimes. For example, the possession of small amounts of marijuana.

    29. We call for legalization of industrial hemp and all its many uses.

    30. We call for an end to the "war on drugs." We support expanded drug counseling and treatment.

doesn't go far enough for me. people should be able to grow the stuff in their back yards without any regulation.

but anyway, i know what your're saying, because marijuana is not one of their major issues. not even close. (i served on the communications committee of the Massachusetts Green Party for a little while, and drug laws were never discussed)

why would dem's squirm? Nadar has no influence at all right now. Dem's have learned, that's why Kucinich was ignored.

Barak will get 60% of the vote, McCain has no chance at being President. His support of Bush 2001 - 2006 when Republicans were abusing their power, he went along. No longer the Maverick, just another Bush croney.

Tell me one person that's running who would actually be a better president than Nader. There are millions who think he'd do the best job but they're fucking pussies with their votes and don't dare to do the right thing.

"I used to like Nader"..??? What the fuck is that? Nader has and always will stand for the same things - Honesty, integrity, working hard to keep Americans truly safe and well. If you "used to like" him and now don't then I can only assume that your values have changed because he's always stuck to his guns.

I've concluded that 99% of the people who think "Nader has lost it" are just plain fucking ignorant and know very little about him. Stop watching fox fucking news and pay attention to what he's done and pay attention to what he stands for.
