Why should our troops continue to die over there when the very people they are trying to defend are not doing what is necessary to secure their country. I gave the President the benefit of the doubt with this new surge. If by January 2008 we do not see significant improvements or the Iraqi government is failing to hold it's end of the deal we pack up and go home. No amount of money, time, or troops will fix that country if the very citizens are not willing to put aside their diferences and work towards a better Iraq.
I highly doubt Iran will physically come in and take over. What would happen is that a Shi'ite leadership, with strong ties to Iran, will seize control. This can basoically happen anyway through elections, so we can continue to stay there, continue to have our troops killed off, and in 5 years the people of Iraq can elect a government (predominatly Shi'ite) that has strong ties to Iran and all those deaths and billions of dollars would have been for nothing."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -

To win in 2008 they need, NEED to get the antiwar vote. A person cant be elected without it
+1
Sadly, it seems you don't have to be actually antiwar to get support for the left on this board. You just have have to choose your wording very carefully and make your plans of action vague enough to appeal to everyone pretty much.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

If I hear one more progressive, vegan, animal-rights person say to me that Dennis Kucinich can't possibly win, I think I am going to bust. It's one thing if unenlightened and uniformed people like David Letterman, who know nothing about Kucinich want to poke fun at his campaign, but there's no excuse for such defeatism by progressives, particularly at this stage of the game. If this is what you believe, then I believe you. Since your thoughts create your reality, then you will end up with the leader you focus your attention on. I know in my heart that there is no other politician in Washington (or anywhere in this country) who more closely represents everything I care deeply about: peace, compassion, economic justice, social equality, access for all to quality healthcare ... the list goes on and on. So I am focusing all of my energy and attention on Dennis Kucinich.
When I was growing up, I remember being told over and over again that anyone could become President of the United States. Well, we see now, that that is true. The one thing they didn't tell us though, is that anyone with BIG MONEY behind him or her can become President. Still, we all continue to dream of that little guy, that person who is really "one of us" occupying the Oval Office. Dennis Kucinich is that guy! He's the person we've been waiting for all of our lives. After 40 years of public service, his record for representing the best interests of his constituents, his integrity, his voting record on the war, animal rights, the environment, and issues of equality are unparalleled! Do you know that he is the only Presidential Candidate who voted against the war in Iraq and who also voted against funding the war 100% of the time? (Both Clinton and Obama have voted to fund the war 100% of the time, Edwards 87% of the time, and Clinton even voted for us to go to war.) There was no confusion about whether or not we should have invaded a country which had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11, and had neither the intention nor the capability to attack the United States. Don't let anyone in Congress tell you that they were "fooled" by the Bush Administration. Dennis Kucinich knew better, voted his conscience, and stood his ground.
If you care deeply about creating peace here at home and in the world, animal rights, environmental protection, global warming, developing healthy, safe, and renewable sources of energy, healthcare, economic justice, and equality, there is no better choice. The time is now to support a man who will bring these ideals to the forefront of American politics, and lead us back on the path of becoming a partner in the family of nations. Dennis Kucinich represents the greatest hope for our future. I refuse to buy into a defeatist line of thinking, which tells me that you don't believe we deserve to have such a man leading our country. I do believe we deserve it. Not only do we deserve it, we desperately need it. For without such leadership, we are doomed to more of the same. If you truly want to create change in the world, then change your mantra! Start saying he can and will win! Start believing that we all deserve something far better than what we have become accustomed to in Washington. Support Dennis Kucinich for President in 2008 NOW!

During every major national election, I design and sell Libertarian bumper stickers and donate the proceeds to the Libertarian party. When I lived in Chicago, I used to make a killing do this. But since I moved to Chapel Hill, the San Fransisco of the Southeast, finding a market has been a bit tough (Bednarik got a whopping 8 votes in 2004 here). So this year I'm going to sell them online:

These bumper stickers are so you, ffg! Hilarious. So, do you 'make' these bumper stickers yourself? Did you come up with most of the ideas for them? The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance,

The ideas are mostly mine, though it's tough to take credit for originality in the world of one-liners. I've seen a lot of variations or duplications on some of these.0 -

Thanks. That one makes me giggle everytime I see it. Poor Nancy....
The first version of that sticker said:
"In a just world, this woman would have 42 cats."
Nobody liked that, so I changed it. I like the first version better.0 -

Hey! What's wrong with that? I am an 'eccentric' cat lady. Of course, I only have 2 cats (both black). Any more than that gets smelly. The greatest obstacle to discovery is not ignorance,
