you're right, it's much better to ignore things that make us uncomfortable and push them into a closet... like homosexuals or the failure of this administration's foreign policy.

who the fuck cares what that surfer douche has to say? you do realize that, in your own thread criticizing what lohan said, you just quoted another "celebrity" to make your point?

glad i'm not the only one that caught that.

nothing like bullheaded ignorance. reminds me of a boston legal episode:
in response to someone expressing concern that the wonderful wildlife at their resort may not last much longer, denny crane replies "i'm here to enjoy nature! don't talk to me about the environment."

for the record, there is nothing more simplistic (or should i say simple-minded) than the republican platform. jesus is good, everyone else is immoral. the usa is always right and good, anyone that disagrees with us is a terrorist. taxes are always bad, i don't care what necessary things they fund, unless it's to buy weapons in which case any and all increases are acceptable. the dems have the complicated and nuanced platform, which is why you see people bitching about kerry being a flip-flopper and obama not having any stances. because they don't understand someone who can recognize the merits of opposing positions and adopt a nuanced stance in the middle... it forces them to think harder than they want. they'd rather drink cocktails and plot affairs without being bothered with any responsibility for the country their children will inherit.
    and like that... he's gone.
