popular or not ... is she ready to lead?

    America says no ....

In the latest ABC News poll, fewer than half, 42 percent, think Palin has the kind of experience it takes to serve effectively as president.

As I said before, people who do not have very much contact with americans are going to develop their opinion from the officials we have elected. I do not think random travelers are going to be able to change the minds of the billions of people who see the actions of the Bush administration and assume that those actions are supported by us. You do. Perhaps we should let more iranians, pakistanis, iraqis, and afghans into our country to off set the stereotype we have developed because of our media.

Actually many Iranian youth prefer Western ideals, it is the nutjob radical leaders that don't like us.

That's the point I was trying to make but it doesn't matter.

They may prefer Westrn Ideals.. but, they still hate our Foriegn policy as it applies to the Middle East. That's the fuel that keeps those nutjob radical leaders in place.

I figured this would happen. For those of you who said she did awful during her speech, I don't know what you were looking at.

If you pass a news stand or go to Barnes and Noble-that woman is literally on the cover of every magazine. And I read today in the (NY) Post (where she is also on the cover) that over 1000 people cancelled their subscriptions to Us Weekly b/c they didn't like the 'negative' story that was run about her. (They ran a story talking about the internet rumour that Trig is really Bristol's baby).

    It's unbelieveable.

I don't agree with most of what she said but the manner in which she delivered that speech was quite well-done. She's quite feisty.

I wouldn't vote for McCain-Palin if my life depended on it, but I bet that speech alone swayed some people...
