Global warming
Living wage ~ I'd happily pay more for products and services if it would alleviate the burdon of the working poor.
- Helping the environment
- Banning the death penalty
- Opposing war
- Poverty
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
-Climate change
-environmental neglect/apathy (although climate change is related I think climate change is the most urgent)
-3rd world neglect/poverty (Africa in particular)
-war opposition
-health care
-National forest/park protection
-Third world country aid
-Wildlife protection

- Going for Peace as the Way
- increasing FAIR TRADE vs. global trade
- stop increasing poverty in Europe while the rich get richer every day
- stop going global and act local
- improving education and integration systems
- stop child abuse in any ways
- Freedom of speak
- improve social welfare and security around the work place and get a task for everyone!

...the world is come undone, I like to change it everyday but change don't come at once, it's a wave, building before it breaks.
Environment - protection, conservancy
Abortion - pro-choice
After getting on too many "lists" however, I now just act locally.
the spread of capitalism and the problems this causes for communities
child and animal abuse
the environment

I hear ya...
After getting on some conservation lists and groups I was innundated with huge amounts of mail and email requesting money and services.
I understand it's how those groups survive though...

given this list i think the more appropriate question would be what social cause is NOT your thing that covers basically every social issue in existence right now, hehe.
peace
chemical additives/GMOs in our food supply
climate change/environment
animal welfare
universal healthcare
access to education
1st Amendment issues
children's rights/welfare
justice system reform
- thinking about where my food comes from, usually i try to buy local (less fuel for transport, fresh picked fruit, support my community), but now in the winter i buy organic (it's gonna travel the distance, so i might as well try to minimize something)
-non-car transportation, even in the winter, i'm still riding my bike, walking, or when the snow gets too deep, i'll take the subway, i worked in the burbs this summer, and it killed me to see at least one hummer every day, not to mention those other monsters
-try to buy clothes that weren't made by small sri lanken children (this one is hard though 'cause i'm but a poor student)
- also, try to buy clothes that don't have petro-chemicals in them, which means that i tend to buy leather shoes over the 'vegan' alternative, even though i'm veg
- conservation of biodiversity (i've dedicated my life to this one, it's the topic of my thesis, and hopefully i'll find work in this field later)
-oh, and how could i forget, i'm veggie, which stems from my feelings for animal rights
-my other one is sort of a smaller 'cause' i'm a mountain biker/climber, and i'm trying to promote low-impact use of trails and climbing areas, you'd be suprised how destructive some of these 'outdoor' people are
causes that i care about, and am basically not doing anything about, and am asking you guys to help me figure out how to do something about:
- poverty, as someone said, the rich are getting richer, the poor are dying a miserable death
- FORGIVING THIRD WORLD DEBT!!
- legalizing maryjane (well, i'm sort of doing something about this, in a rather roundabout way)
- making the elderly a more important part of our society, i mean, we send them off to live in deplorable homes, we don't care about them at all, it's awful
- pro-choice!! i just found out that even though in canada, where abortion is legal, they don't teach it at med-school, my bro (who i am infinitely proud of because of this) is in his 3rd year at med school, and had to go to a private clinic to learn how to do abortions
you kids sound like an active group, so i'll recomend it here, you should go read "race against time" by steven lewis, he's the UN special envoy on HIV/AIDS in Africa, and the book is a collection of lectures he gave in canada, it's quite eye opening
Albert Einstein
disablility inclusion
Renewable energy (particularly wind power)
everything environment (conservation and awareness), includes reducing carbon emissions
Peace
Pro-Choice
Free Speech
Mainstream Media (against it.)
Corporation Fraud (buy from smaller & local businesses)
Universal Healthcare
Animal welfare
Right to breastfeed in public
Justice System Reform

i think you might want to consider stopping. you used to be one of the few i respected and considered halfway intelligent around here. im sad to find that regard misplaced.
Oh, please. I was just making a joke in the other thread...just like Rushlimbo was giving Miller crap...and NOW you're gonna get bent outta shape towards me about the whole thing?!?! Please. I was just trying to stick up for Miller a bit.
I don't even come here that much anymore. Whatever, I don't care...say what you want.

i figured, but i still thought you could do better than the tired junior high "dude you wanna march in gay parades? you're such a fag!" schtick. jlew too. i havent seen that tactic in a long time and id expect it from miller or corporatewhore, but not you two. you've set the bar a little higher is all.
Yeah, I know. It was kinda weak. I'm just getting on the board for the first time in awhile though....still warming up...

My 4 cats must had found out cuz they have been puking hair balls all over for me to step in at night!!! LOL!
Over the past 34 years I have rescued 2 dogs and 5 cats...and to me that means til death do us part. Its never just a passing fancy. It is a life long commitment.
I still have 4 of the cats. The rest have passed away from old age.
But at the forefront is all the environmental issues, and questions of distribution and equality/inequality in society.
That oughtta cover it.
Peace
Dan
