lol. Thats pretty funny. I only watched bits and pieces, because imo it was turning into the soul train awards. But i always try to catch best album.

This whole thread proves that people like Miller need validation for their closed-minded opinion; never mind that anyone might like the Dixie Chicks.

Everyone knows that the Grammys are a load of crap. Anyone that places that much importance on a stupid commercialized award needs to rethink the important things in life.

I NEVER watch the Grammys... even if Pearl Jam were to make an appearance... I wouldn't bother. I refuse to waste the time, sorting through Justin Timberlake, Puff Diddly and Jennifer Lopez crap for anything... that's what happened to Ted Haggard... too many Grammy shows.
I DID see the Police, though... they came on first... otherwise, if they were put on last... I would have missed their song and caught it on YouTube.

I know people must like them Jean- Wah!, but i dont think their grammy worthy. The only reason they won the award is because of the tree hugging committee of the grammy's.

Just admit it... you don't like the Dixie Chicks because they don't like your beloved president and his war. That's all. That is the bottom line here. If they never said anything... they would never be in your crosshairs. The ONLY reason you are all up in arms is because you don't like what they said and you don't want to see them succeed in anything.
Me? I didn't care for them before and I still don't care for them... I don't like Country Music. I don't HATE them... but, i don't like them... I couldn't care less about them because I will probably never listen to their music (unless I'm dating a girl who likes them and I am forced to listen to them in her car if I'm hoping to bang her)... because I don't like Country Music. Nothing to do with their opinion on this or that... everything to do with me not listening to Country Music.

Album of the year is the most prestigious honor a person can get. And if you dont see liberal bias in the grammys, you are on crack.

Story... I was talking to Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters about when they did the Grammys a couple of years ago... he agreed with me that they were crap. But, the Foos went because their moms and wives and girlfriends wanted to get all dolled up and go out and meet Puff Daddy and Jennifer Lopez and walk down the red carpet and all that crap. Anyway, the Foos won for 'All My Life' or something and guess where that Grammy ended up? On Chris's mom's mantel in her living room... Chris didn't want it.
moral... I don't care for the Grammys... that's my gig. But, just because I think they suck, doesn't mean they suck. If Chris's mom is proud to brag about her son's Grammy on her mantel... who am I to say?
How does this relate? You place WAAAAAY too much value on the Grammys... like Chris's mom.

Honestly though Stadium Arcadium wasn't that great of an album. It's ok but by no means should it be album of the year. I can't comment on the other nominations because I never heard the albums. The grammys are a popularity contest and the Dixie Chicks just happened to be popular this year. Just look at last year. U2 won and that was probably one of their worst albums, but they where everywhere last year. I don't think it some liberal conspiracy because if it was Neil Young would have won some awards instead of the Chili Peppers. Let me just add though that it is bullshit that Stadium Arcadium won best rock album over Highway Companion. Highway Companion is such an amazing album but Tom Petty isn't as popular as RHCP.

seriously, if you don't like the group or the fact that they won an award, why waste your time by posting a thread about it? all it does is give attention to the fact that they won and you are angry about it. its not like you can protest it and get it taken away.

most people see things that they disagree with everyday and are not on here calling it a GOP conspiracy or a liberal bias.

its basically a pat on the back from the recording industry saying that the powers that have a vote dug your record. thats all. if you read the insert in the new rolling stone it has interviews with the chilis and tom petty and many others that basically say that the grammy means nothing to them. if it means nothing to the artists, then why is everyone getting so upset about it?

the grammys lost all credibility when they gave the best metal award to jethro tull over metallica in 1989, so that shows the caliber of people that have a vote.
