Because, i think Neil and Pearl Jam hate the grammy's, and anything that has to do with any award ceremony
True, with one exception:
I think Pearl Jam would be honored to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame some day. Many of their heroes, including The Who and Neil were inducted.
As a die-hard anti war liberal, let me be the first to say that I fucking hate the dixie bitches. They can't release an album without co-writing every song with someone, they can't play a live show without a dozen hired session players and instead of writing a meaningful song they write something about how mean people were to them. Seriously, they need to quit their bitching, they are not the only band that has lost fans, radio play or received death threats because of political beliefs
Who the hell had a better country album this year?? Fucking Raskall Flatts?! Aaaagghhh!
Whether you like them or not, the Dixie Chicks probably deserved their awards over those other schlubs.
Seriously.
I am forced to listen to country radio stations for hours some days and to be honest, i haven't heard a decent song in months. I think once i heard a Johnny Cash song, that was a good day...And not once hacve they played a Dixie Chicks song.
So either the Dixie Chicks deserved the award or it was based on a lack of options, or some combo of the two, since country music is shit. And by shit i mean really bland and similar and un-original and all about the same fucking 3 things.

And if you doubt the veracity of these words please refer to Trace Adkins' latest gem that the country music world must, instead of the Dixie Chicks, be oh so proud to call their very own:

That is true for all of country musicians. Nothing but session musicians helping to cut the album and then play on tour. That is why it sounds like the same tired crap.

I hope you just mean "pop" country music. People like Steve Earle or Ryan Adams or Lucinda Williams don't really use the same session musicians
The only reason they won those awards was because giving out accolades to outspoken anti-Bush artists is the entertainment industry's way of giving the finger to the White House. It's pathetic and nobody cares but they do it anyway.
How in the hell is "Not Ready to Make Nice" a country song anyway? With it's maddeningly cliched and overused I-V-VII-III progression that's been in every top-40 hit since 1996. Argh. It's a POP song and the Dixie Chicks are a marginally talented POP band. People freak out because they actually play their own instruments. My God what a concept!
Country music died when Johnny Cash did.
So this life is sacrifice...

That has JACK SHIT to do with their artistic merit! Who fucking cares about politics when they can't write their own songs or play a show without a dozen session players?????

Those are cruel and unusual working conditions... today's country music is like the Disco we were forced to endure in the 70s. In fact, a better punishment for Saddam Hussein would have been to listen to Rascal Flatts and K.C. and the Sunshine Band on alternating continuous loops... forever. That would be 1,000 times worse than his hanging.

Agreed, the Grammy's is pure shit.
