I make no bones about my dislike of obama and that i will not vote for him.
However the stuff going around now seems so outrageous one has to wonder where it stops, and whats the end result?
It seems from the Youtube interviews of Mccain supporters and just the whole "fox news" mentality is this: Obama is a muslim and a terrorist supporter. That he is a radical.
To these people, thats a fact. No one can prove them wrong because they believe these are facts.
Thats why I dont think Obama will win. There are thousands maybe millions of people who think obama is a muslim and a terrorist supporter. Millions more who are racist and will not vote for him, solely on the fact his skin tone is dark.
I think also, if he does get elected, as I stated in previous threads and posts, sadly alot of people, will want him dead.
If people are shouting "kill" "bomb" and "off with his head", and people are "scared" of a obama presidency, just think the mayhem that will ensue if he gets into the white house.
As I said, I dont support obama, he isnt a candidate I like. That said he isnt a muslim, or terrorist lover.

Even if Obama was a muslim and a terrorist supporter, how much damage could he really do? Congress would be on his ass like flies on shit at the first sign of treason. It's not like he's going to fly Air Force One into the Pentagon.
Personally, I think it would be great to have a black person in office. Above all, I'd like to see an overweight black woman in office just to piss off the sexists, racists, and the guys who make fun of fat chicks.
But, I'm banking that a black person in office will be a huge self-confidence boost for blacks and even other minorities all over the nation. So many millions of black kids are born into poverty, gangs, and hopelessness. It would be nice if they could see with their own eyes the potential of their existence.
They say that self-esteem is the cornerstone of moral behavior. Maybe if these kids could look in the mirror and like who they see, they'll be less tempted to idolize people like fifty cent.

I am so sick and tired of people insinuating that that is a bad thing. Makes me sick to my stomach that the Republican Party has succeeded with associating one religion with absolute hatred, that they’ve been able to instil this idea that every single person in the Middle East has a bomb and a gun and a distinct hatred for Americans. Absolutely not true.
The Fox Newsification / Hannity hate speak ... it still has me not nearly as confident as I'd like to be as an Obama supporter. I still feel there is a movement waiting to happen to change this election.
Someone started a thread earlier on whether there would be a race riot if Obama lost ... I'm starting to wonder if we should start another thread asking the same question, but if McCain lost. At least with this thread, we'd have video evidence of the building of a riot.
"I don't believe in damn curses. Wake up the damn Bambino and have me face him. Maybe I'll drill him in the ass." --- Pedro Martinez
really the only difference with the smears on Obama is that he happens to have darker skin tones. In every elections both sides try to stir up hate, stir up lies (re: associations, past activities etc...) and people on both sides believe them...w/o even questioning the validity of the rumors. There are lots of people who want every president dead, so again...do I feel bad for Obama in that regard? no more than I feel bad for every president who has their life taken or threatend. Unfortunately, it goes with the territory. He's not special in this case. I think he will win, if for no other reason than he's a fresh face around washington. He's also likable and intelligent. I don't like a lot of his policies, but he also seems willing to think through things and change his mind as more information comes available. That being said, if he's elected I don't think the outcry will be much different than any other election that is tightly contested. There will be accusations of voter fraud, intimidation, people being denied the right to vote etc...
What bugs me is that the democrats haven't fought fire with fire and attacked McCain for being an oven chip.
I think, judging from McCain's actions at his rallies he has realized that A: this kind of behavior does not seem that appealing to the undecided swing voters who will decide this election, and B: that this hatred of Obama, that thus far has gone uninhibited by the McCain camp, was getting out of hand. I think McCain is very uncomfortable with the way his campaign as gone (how virulently angry and hateful portions of the campaign have been thus far), but he swallowed it because he wanted to win. Maybe he doesn't want to swallow it anymore.
The rest of the world is just as racist, even Europe. Don't let them fool you.

Will the hate ever end? Don’t think so. It depresses the hell out of me.

This last week has been so up an down for me personally ~ incredibly sad.. anger-evoking and absolute confussion that there are still people out there that think this way. I knew it existed, but to hear masses of people say some of these things is disgusting and disturbing. I thougt we had evolved, but sadly there are still many people who feel the need to judge one on the color of one's skin, rather than the content of one's character.
Having sad that.. I do still believe that these people are the minority. I believe the majority of Americans are not these hate filled bigots who will believe anything they read in a forwarded email. These people were looking for things about Obama to not like, to justify their hatred of someone who has a darker skin tone than they do.
The rational people of this country will indeed elect Obama as our next president. I do feel this last week might have just sealed the deal for most people who were undecided who have viewed these crazies at McCain's ralies.
I think one of the questions posed in another reply.. I think it is quite possible that these unstable people could very well take to the street in protest.
I do have to say though that I hope that President Obama's secret service protection is quite larger than any other president.

you know what is really sad also that some of these folks are actually PJ fans ...
Oh I know.. it has never made sense to me.. but that is a whole other topic!

I think you overestimate and exaggerate your figures here. The relatively small handful of complete numbskulls you mention here are outnumbered by folks who see McCain and Palin as the twits they are and are, in fact, greatly turned off by the nauseating campaign they are running. While you focus on these fools on youtube and at McCain/Palin rallies, the rest of us are laughing and shaking our heads at the profound stupidity of these rednecks. i think its time for you to face it, as tough as it may be, your next president is more than likely going to be the uppity Black guy from Chicago
Bwahahahahaha!
i've mentioned in this forum before how i know a guy whose job it is to study and momitor the behaviors and patterns of white supremacist hate groups in the U.S and he says the blabber of "race war" if Obama wins from these jackasses is actually quite alarming. Yet white folks want to focus on the possibility of riots in the inner cities if Obama loses. Crazy.
"...Former Republican Gov. William Milliken is expressing doubts about his party's nominee. "He is not the McCain I endorsed,""He keeps saying, 'Who is Barack Obama?' I would ask the question, 'Who is John McCain?' because his campaign has become rather disappointing to me. I'm disappointed in the tenor and the personal attacks on the part of the McCain campaign, when he ought to be talking about the issues."
Lincoln Chafee, a former Republican U.S. senator from Rhode Island, said he's voting for Obama and urging others to do likewise. "That's not my kind of Republicanism," said Chafee, who now calls himself an independent. "I saw what Bush and Cheney did. They came in with a (budget) surplus and a stable world, and look what's happened now. In eight short years they've taken one peaceful and prosperous world, and they've torn it into tatters." As for McCain's choice of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin for his running mate, "there's no question she's totally unqualified," Chafee said.

Agree ee should always treat a person on his own merit, but since you asked
why the negativity:
Mosques in America are funded directly by institutions in Saudi Arabia that support jihad.
Over half of all "moderate muslims" believe in some form of sharia law.
Muslim activist lawyers are clogging our courts with frivolous discrimination
suits, costing US tons o' cash.
Just some of the things that bug me...
Yeah, maybe our leadership sucks sometimes, but what does that say about that of the Muslim leadership? I don't see ANY of them hammering the point home that extremism is bad. Our people would be rioting if our leadership pulled any of this crap.
So, it makes it hard...just sayin...and I think your heart should be more focused on the homefront.

Firstly I think its been established the Obama IS NOT A MUSLIM! HE IS CHRISTIAN! So since there is no Muslim running for office your post is irrelevant.
How many times does he or his supporters say that before you fucking people hear and GET it!
Secondly...you make some serious allegations...where is your proof?? I don't see you siting any sources that say the mosques get funding from the Saudi's or that they ALL support a Jihad in some form.
Sounds like you are believing some of the bullshit McCain is spewing and to you I say...get a mind of your own and do some research.
How do you know the lawsuits are frivolous?? I think racism against Muslims and indeed other East Indian people is VERY prevalent (all you have to do is look at the so called random airport checks). I mean your post alone has some very racist overtones. (not saying you personally are racist).
As a Catholic myself...need I remind people that Christianity wasn't always so rightious (sp) either. Anyone study the Crusades???
Lets stick to the ISSUES here and leave race and religion out of the election. I know many Americans can't and won't...and thats what makes me sad, scared and angry.
AMEN Sistah!!! Post of the day right here!!!!!
I'm catholic myself...but I honestly feel that there MUST be some real good in the Muslim faith for it to have sooo many followers. I've heard that Islam is actually a very peaceful religion its just that, like any religion, they have their extremists and THOSE are the ones we hear on the news and read in the paper.
It scares me WAY more to see your nuclear codes in the hands of a 72 year old man who has a temper problem, no fucking clue about the economy, has ties to Oil barrons....and an ignorant power hungry soccer mom as his sidekick in case he kicks it while in office.
It astounds me that it doesn't scare more people.
Let me spell it for you so that you understand:
Obama I-S N-O-T a M-U-S-L-I-M !!!!!!!!!!!!
Your post is pointless! as no one in this presidential race is a Muslim!
is Muslim
But the larger point, in answer to the poster, is the distinction between HATE and PRACTICALITY when it comes to the question, on it's face, of a Muslim in the white house.
And my facts are supported by a book written by Mark Steyn, entitled "America Alone." I recommend.
The original poster stated a strong anti-muslim sentiment attached to Obama by the right, which I don't necessarily buy. Followed by PJgurl's heartfelt apology to all muslims who might be reading our negative associations of them.
Just some perspective...
A whole lot more people are misinformed about the Keating 5 than they are about Obama's faith, if you ask me...
Why would this be a question at this time, since no Muslims are running for president in 2008? I personally don't care what someone's religion is - I want someone who has the expertise to run the complicated country that the U.S. is at this time, and I think Obama is that person.
