  • You shouldnt criticize the leader during a time of war.
By criticizing President O'Reilly, you undermine the troops who are heroically fighting the War on Christmas.

Not really a big fan -

I find him arrogant as hell and he's kind of a bully on the show

That being said, Letterman ambushed him pretty bad that night. I thought BO'
stayed calm because he knew it was Letterman's audience, and did pretty good. I saw him get the best of Michael Moore one time, but also saw Phil Donahue get the best of him.

He's fake, tries to move more to the center than he really is, and is always
aware of his own perception out there -

Could care less about the guy

O'Reilly has continually gone after Bush and aspects of the way the Iraq war was conducted. It just so happens that many people on this board conveniently ignore that fact, and instead choose to label Bill as being NOT fair and balanced because he tends to lean conservative.

Ironic how you don't hear these same people groaning and moaning about...oh...I don't know...Keith Olberman. You know, the guy who used to give me my football highlights at 6am on ESPN for years and years.

Oh yeah, he's a Bush basher, and he's on MSNBC. They're SO much MORE involved in reporting real news and less op-ed than FOX...yeah, my bad...

The only thing I can glean from this piss and moan session about Bill O'Reilly and FOX is that it's okay to spout op-ed and disguise it as news as long as the opening segment of your program doesn't say that it's "fair and balanced."

    how true it is....
Oh he fills it up with the love of a girl...

It would be ok if he didn't lie and slander constantly.

  • the difference is i think olberman actually DOES some journalism. WHen he gets down into it and serious about things, he has done his research. I dont care if someone on tv comes from a particular point of view. I dont give a shit about fair and blanced. The difference is when someone like o reilyl or hannity dont agree with someone...they dont even listen to their sdie. They just start speaking louder so whoever else can't get their point across. It comes off as childish.

ILl give it to oreilly, ive seen/heard him bash the current policy and sometiems speak intelligently but for the most part...what i said above is far more often than the latter.

Also, the thing about letterman...anyone who thinks "do you want america to win the war" is a black or white issue is far nuts.

why is it if we dont think the way to win the war is in iraq, or if its a abigger problem we started in iraq, and dont want to say "yea i want to kick terrorists ass" we want america to "lose" (whatever the hell that means)

in conclusion. o reilly is an idiot.

How about that Apology Bill. I find the second part of that statement hilarious. The fact that he trusted Bush in the first place, had to know you were doomed doing something like that.

O'Reilly is going to die from an aneurysm. He's too high-strung.

I imagine steroids would make someone a blowhard jackoff. It helps them run and stuff, Oh wait, nope, steroids can lead to impotence.

I totally agree with that...I think he's taking a lesser dose of whatever Michael Groce is taking. I think you can tell a lot about people by just looking at them, not really their personal appearance per se, but their expressions. O'Riley just looks like he likes to argue. Its kind of like if you see a picture of Rodney Dangerfield. He doesn't have to SAY anything, you just laugh. If you look at O'Riley, you're all of a sudden in a serious, argumentative mode. I think Rodney Dangerfield is the anti-O'Riley.

I should hope that O'Reilly moped the floor with Letterman. Letterman's job is not about steifling others in political conversations.

Somehow this reminds me of the time (and this was a few years ago) that Donahue went on the O'Reilly show and Donahue "out O'Reillied" O' Reilly. That was awsome. Right on Bill's home floor.

I remember that. Good show, Donahue. As for Olberman, the little jabs he takes in retort to O'Reilly are just about the only thing O'Reilly has going for himself as, as, um, er, a journalist?

I threw Olberman in YouTube and watched the 1st 3 links. I never heard of the guy.

Very clear he loathes W and is using metaphores that are a bridge too far and the part about 9-11 is far too harsch, but when I compare this to what I've seen of O'Reilly it at least has some journalistic, factual information, instead of an opinion presented as truth, but again it's over the top. It's clearly from a left point of view. I'm surprised someone is critizing Bush on TV this harsch. Is MSNBC a left broadcaster?

And the fact that O'Reilly (or Fox for that matter) has such high viewing ratings is a sad thing to me. He clearly doesn't have any journalistic qualities.

You mean the Fox presenters? How's that, because of the elections?
