Tim Russert, NBC journalist and political heavyweight host of "Meet the Press," has died after collapsing at NBC's Washington news bureau, a source said. He was 58 years old.

I flipped on MSNBC and they were not talking about it

No other sites are reporting it. That would be fucking terrible though.

Edit: The Huffington Post is reporting it now.

  • Whoa?! Apparently he had type 2 diabetes and died from an obesity related heart attack shortly after 8am this morning/

Sonds like he probably ate a lot of the bad foods...but...he was obese?
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

He was bigger, but I wouldn't say he was morbidly obese at all. This is so sad.
  • RIP Tim

Very sad. I liked him. :(

My mom is sitting here saying "wow...he was 10 years younger than I am."

    58 is way too young.

This sucks. The journalistic community needs people of his integrity.

    RIP Tim.

    so sad

    I really respected him
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride" ! Unknown

  • Russert was the best!

    RIP Tim.

I was holding out hope it wasn't true, since noone else was reporting it. Then i saw it on Huffington. Terrible. They'll never find another like him to host MTP. Someone who will chew up and spit out anybody from any party, using nothing more than their own words

I'm wondering who will take over. I hope it isn't David Gregory.

How sad. Sympathy goes out to his family

We've lost a person who actually cared about seeking the truth in politics regardless of their title and status at a time when the media standards have fallen to an all time low.
SIN EATERS--We take the moral excrement we find in this equation and we bury it down deep inside of us so that the rest of our case can stay pure. That is the job. We are morally indefensible and absolutely necessary.

This leaves a big hole in his family and the industry.

  • You can count on Fox News to be douchebags, no matter the situation. Cavuto was discussing Tim, and he brings in Chris Wallace to the discussion:

Let's bring in Chris Wallace, who worked with Tim at NBC, and now competes against him on Sunday mornings, successfully......

something like that. What an asshole

Tim Russert was the true meaning of "fair and balanced", unlike some shitty cable news network.
