    or elected.

in this election; i hope you're right. i'm not opposed to a woman or black president; but our options in this election are not qualified. they say the right words people want to hear but those people don't look behind the curtain. for example; hillary will talk against big business yet big business finances her. so here's how the conspiracy works:
you finance me and i'll talk trash about you to get into power; once i have the power we can be bed partners because i can't be un-elected.
that's how we; as hippies; infiltrated the government.

on the other hand; if obama becomes president; he should say: look; a black man can become president; so affirmative action is truely discrimination against whites.
what are the chances of that happening?

  • I had an interesting experience over the weekend... My wife and I went to the Maine shore (from Albany, NY) over the weekend, and driving back through rural Maine, New Hampshire & Vermont, I was amazed at all of the Ron Paul signs that I saw... From the professional looking lawn signs and banners, to the homemade banners and even just spray painted signs, I saw more things with Ron Paul's name on then every other candidate combined... it was actually very refreshing that a grassroots type of candidacy can become so popular.

now if the mainstream media can give him some respect, he will have a very good shot at the primaries or more

So I've spent a good portion of the evening geeking out on Ron Paul youtube vids....
I started with the debates from last night....here are his comments from the debates:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKzteUs_vto

Then I watched this clip about Fox's take on their own text polls:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytFVc8JIUrs

THen I watched his interview from after the debates:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swgD6XLlyvQ

So after watching those last two clips, I am starting to get really annoyed by how BRUTAL the fox news coverage is (I don't get fox news so I'm not used to this fucking circus)...
Now, it's obvious that mainstream media wouldn't support a guy like Paul...but watching this made me fucking sick:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VY-KlYg9UME
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ht1bo5UhOs

Does anyone actually take Fox news seriously? I mean sure, all corp news stations are crooked and have agendas...but fuck...the study group that that Frank Luntz used to disprove the text polls?...how does anyone take this stuff seriously?

I mean...the polls don't mean much, really...but is fox even bothering to explain how it is that Ron Paul's supporters are the only ones that are smart enough to figure out a way around only being able to vote once? How are they stacking the vote? Why can't fox explain that? They just keep saying it....why aren't the other candidates supporters doing it too?

So....do you have to be American to donate to your politicians? :D Hell, I'll send one of you money to donate for me :)

^^^^^ while I agree with you about fox on that particular night, all the major networks are ignoring ron paul. its sad. and really pisses me off. the only thing we can do is vote. I will be voting for him. after 8 years of the left, 8 years of the right. its time for a change. and ron paul's main message is liberty. hard to argue with that.

Ya, Blitzer is just as bad in part two of that vid. It's frustrating as hell. It would be one thing if they ignored him, but they are giving him just enough air time to smear him. I wish I had more faith that the average voter can see thru that, but if Bush got anywhere near 50% in '04….I dunno. The momentum Paul is gaining is encouraging tho. It seems obvious that people want change. I just worry about what will happen as the campaign against Paul gets more intense. They will try to drag him thru the mud on abortion and drugs as time goes on. The thing I love about him is that his answers are so common sense…. as hard as the media tries, they can't corner him on anything!

This is another vid I watched last night....a nicely done promo piece for RP...
I hope it doesn't make me too big a pussy to say that it choked me up a bit....I used to be amazed at the emotion my parent's generation felt over JFK....I didn't understand how anyone loved a politician like that...but I'm starting to understand why people are so drawn to a person who speaks the truth, a message of hope

does this mean you'll stop bitching about press coverage? better idea, make a new thread

Trends rather than anomalies would be interesting to see. It all reminds me of Keith Olbermann's first hand experiences with his lord and master GE explained during his interview with Bill Moyers (on the Journal).

I was reading the other day that John Stossel is considered more of a celebrity than Bill Moyers, and that is a tragedy imo...
