Olbermann on Bush's Speech

  • I very much agree with that. I love the whole NBC/MSNBC team. I usually TiVo the late night repeats, and put them on in the morning.

Olbermann is my favorite. I can see where people think he's a Democratic version of hannity or O'reilly. The difference is he will go after the Dems. You'll almost never hear a Fox guy (Condi's guys, she loves all of them) rip a Rep. I also think he is the smartest (or at least his show) of the pundits. Most guys just give you the talking points, and say if you don't agree with them you're an idiot. Keith goes into history

Scarborough continues to grow on me. I've been watching him for a few years now. I think it's hilarious that O'Reilly keeps up with his "no conservatives at NBC" thing, despite Joe continually pointing out his presence

I like hardball. i also like when they bring in the NBC guys, Tim Russert especially. Throw in Brian williams, Tom Brokaw, David Gregory, etc...

this is a good website for ratings for the cable news channels

It shows Condi's guys still have a pretty healthy lead over the competition. Not sure what to make of that. I guess some Republicans are diehard. Like my dad, who doesn't believe in global warming. or my brother in law, who thinks we should invade any country that has a terrorist in it. When asked how he would feel if his 4 year old son was drafted in 15 years tro fight this ongoing war, he's okay with that.

Well, I haven't seen Keith do that too often, and I have also seen Oreilley and Hannidy go after a Republican. But all of them are into idealogy. Exactly what is Keith? Is he a satirist, a journalist, a political operative, an sports fan, an entertainer? He is good, but I do think he is just another opinionated talking head with the mind already made up. Got alot of them these days.

I have two sons, one is 15 and the other 19. And I have discussed the draft issue with my wife and it is a big concern that a draft would be instated because of all the wrong moves the Bush Administration has made. Some of it has been out of his control, but the decision to go was his and he messed up. If you can't control the outcome, then don't go. Unless you are in a fight for survival (WWII was a fight for survival) and you can get a declaration of war, then don't even try it.

But don't ask my kids to go fix it for you.

I will NEVER support any war ever again that doesn't go through the Declaration of War process. No matter who is President, even if it was Jesus himself.

back to the point at hand
    IRAN and Syria
Iran is already in control of Iraq, why would they send insurgents to go in and kill the forces that gave them that power. Its more like mujuhadeen from pakistan and saudi arabia who are rewarded for every american they kill by alqueeda. And why does Iraq have a strong presense of alqueeda- because the US and britain defended them whilst they went to work in northen Iraq in the no fly zone, recruiting Iraqis starving because of the embargo on IRAQ. remeber how easy it was to invade Iraq, ever question why. Saddam set up this war we see today, he stashed weapons and cash to fight The US for as long as they can. he studied history he knew he couldnt fight a direct assault, so he created the same type of war as vietnam, where young americans dont know where the enemy is.
The power struggles going on ( the insugency) is a direct result of removing a strongman ( saddam) and removing any viable army/police. remember what happened to Ugoslavia after Tito( it tore itself apart).
Kurdistan is growing more and more as a flash point as well, just go ask Turkey.
Iran is seen as a threat to the region, to the Isreali's. but if they are a threat to the jews why is there a thriving iranian jewish community who dont feel the need to flee their homeland.
DONT ALLOW THIS ADMINISTRATION TO LIE YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN INTO THEIR DEATH
Give iraqis jobs in iraq not Indians and germans

I watch MSNBC more than any other network too... One show which I really seem to like is Tucker Carlson's show. I HATED him on that stupid crossfire sho on CNN, but he is good at going after all sides. While he is more conservative than liberal, he's mostly a libertarian.

I think as a network they have the best crop of guests as well. Buchanan, Jack Jacobs, Jonathan Alter, Ron Regan (needs to be on there more) as well as the NBC guys.
