Let's Wrap it Up (35 comments )
READ MORE: Sheryl Crow, Laurie David, Karl Rove, John McCain, George Washington University, Al Gore, U.S. Congress
Here we are at our final destination -- Capitol Hill. We just toured multiple states, talked to thousands of college students, spoke to many political figures in both parties, and wrapped it all up at a rockin' Earth Day celebration at George Washington University. (Thank you Larry, Tim, Faith, Carole, Bobby, Vice-President Gore, and Sen. McCain for making it a truly memorable and historic Earth Day.)
Our goal on the Hill today was to deliver to Congress the message from the road and the Virtual Marchers that Americans want solutions to global warming. The leaders we met with today told us that they are already writing global warming legislation, but indicated that this was going to be a very tough fight. They reinforced how important it is to hear from their constituents on this issue. Hear that America? We need you. (You can take action right now by logging onto nrdc.org and clicking on the link "Take Action".)
Everywhere we went today, we were asked by everyone from Congresspeople to Capitol Hill police about the "Rove incident." To set the record straight, the other night, we approached Mr. Rove at a dinner designed specifically to encourage conversations between people from different worlds. We were riding a wave of excitement having just come from talking to college students across the country about global warming. Obviously, we were very surprised that Mr. Rove found discussing such an important issue to be insulting. However, rather than continuing to focus on the encounter itself, can we now focus on the urgent need to act on global warming? We would welcome the opportunity to engage directly with the Bush administration in a constructive conversation about solutions to the global warming crisis.
And by the way guys, the toilet paper thing...it was a JOKE!!
fox is too partisan for me. i dont play your cheerleading games. i call jackasses as i see them. and this was a jackass move, so im hardly going to feel sympathy for sheryl crow becos karl rove treated her like the bitch she was acting.
Where in the fuck do you get that Sheryl Crow needs your sympathy. Better yet, where do you get off on calling her a bitch?
Is he supposed to be happy if someone just touches him without permission? If the roles were reversed and he touched Sheryl Crows arm, and she was unhappy with it, wouldnt we be screaming that he took it too far when he put his hands on her?
or if he was just an average person who flipped out at being touched, wouldnt we be concerned that he has some sort of social anxiety?
Fuck Karl Rove. He is a sub human, shit stain and doesn't deserve respect from anyone including Sheryl Crow or Larry David's ball and chain.
Are all your posts like this? I really think you should find something better to do.
BTW, why not just invent a glove you can use to wipe your ass that you can just throw in the dishwasher when you are finished. That seems like a more sanitary option then my 3-ply see through toiletpaper :-S

they'd probly be screaming for him to be arrested for sexual assault
it didn't seem that way at all to me. it seemed like they come onto him like pretentious hollywood twats to lecture him about what he's doing wrong. say what you will about rove (i personally think he is evil incarnate), he's a damned intelligent man and he knows all the shit they were preaching to him about. it sounds like they put him on the spot during a casual dinner and started grilling him about doing things their way. if you bumped into ed at a bar would you start asking him about the number of times he fucks up words and why he doesn't get a teleprompter? i loathe karl rove and his policies, but i don't blame him one bit for being annoyed. yeah, he maybe over-reacted, but they were fucking rude and i don't feel sorry for them.
i pretty much agree. they really didn't accomplish anything other than getting their names in the news.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.
