WHO CARES????
Why do Americans think its our business? B/c he is a politician? Its non of our business, I could give a shit if he did that. It has nothing to do with me or you.
Same with Clinton, he was a good President no matter where he put his cigar.
Get em a Body Bag Yeeeeeaaaaa!
Sweep the Leg Johnny.
to anyone who says this doesn't matter, i mean, c'mon, it does. the man presented himself as a family man and devoted husband and harped about family values and all that, so it makes him a hypocrite. furthermore, i don't claim to have special powers, but i could tell he was a lying sack of shit the first time i saw him give a speech. he was just so blatantly two-faced with his plastic smile. i don't understand why he ever had any supporters. the fact he, John Kerry, the Clintons, the Bushes and many others have been so successful in politics is the reason i have no faith in our current political system.

man, we are so polar opposite on the political spectrum, but have so much in common...
eventually we the people will come together
And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Cuz I don't need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we'll find better days
Right Wingers= It's worse to get caught cheating or having sex, than to kill, starve and rip-off thousands upon thousands.
Of course the operative words are ....." get caught".
We all know Reuplicans are no different than anyone else. Affairs, homosexuality, sex in airport bathrooms, nipple-clamps and butt-plugs; yeah, it's all part of the Republican' private way of life. As is condemning, demonizing and attacking those very things....in the public eye.
What hypocrisy.
All people are the same. Repubs, Demos, Liberal...who ever. Everyone is the same.
Everyone else is concerned with phoney wars that are killing thousands upon thousands of innocent people. They are concerned with the environment ......human rights....quality of life.
Republicans are concerned with who's fucking who and who's getting a blow job, at an inappropriate time:rolleyes:
Maybe if you fuckers focused more on your own sexuality and kept your noses and grubby little fingers out of everyone else's pants and bedrooms; you'd find yourself less vicious and bitter. More satisfied.
For months it is apparent that the mainstream media networks were aware of this and had pretty solid information, much more solid than is usually necessary for them to start asking public questions.
They want you to believe they were SCOOPED by the NATIONAL ENQUIRER?
There story is actually that "sex scandals" are such hot issues that they wanted to make sure. ....Um.....Yeah........
Like most other issues like this, I could care less who John Edwards has sex with. It has no impact on my perception of his ability to do anything other than stay faithfull in a marriage, which history has shown, isn't a very good indicator of leadership anyway.
I think this is an amazing example of the national media getting caught with their ass out for taking a political position on what news is fit to print.
Does anyone think for a second if this would've been someone from the more conservative end of the poltical spectrum, say Guiliani or Romney or Tom Ridge that this would've been buried?
I don't see why the press has to humiliate him and his family like this. It's nobody's business but theirs.
I honestly absolutely agree with you ... but, it's the reality of the situation now. Unless no one can recall, Obama was able to get elected to office in part due to an over aggressive media that forced open the Republican candidate's sealed divorce files -- and then published the details of his issues with his wife. That's the dirty work the press was willing to do for him...
And then it's pulling teeth to get them to do the same to a dem star.
Meanwhile, it's the "character" of the thing, the bald face lying. I don't care if it's Craig or Edwards, I want the lies exposed. These are our politicians.

Speaking of bitter....
The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.
Right 'round the corner could be bigger than ourselves.
But I generally don't really concern myself with other people's personal sex life and whether or not they are getting some tail/sausage on the side.
I find phoney, trumped-up wars which kill many innocent people, to be more significant in the scheme of things.
I could care less too... the only time other people's affairs get me annoyed, are when they are the same people up in arms about someone else's while doing it themselves (Newt Gingrich, etc.).

Damn... you are grasping at straws and trying to make political points about a scumbag cheating on his wife.
And Tom Ridge?!?!?! You honestly think that Tom Ridge having an affair would get national coverage? Most of the country doesn't even know who he is. Of course Guiliani would, but he's different (because of his past public affairs, etc.)
The fact is, that Edwards has been pretty much out of the spotlight... if he was tapped as VP, and they still sat on the story, then you might have a leg to stand on, but not now while he holds no office, or is not running for any office.

#1) As Kenny said, he was talking about moral values and making it part of his campaign...walk the talk.
#2) A candidate that can cheat on their spouse and family that way...if he/she can cheat on thier family, what makes you think that they'll do things with the public's interest in mind? If they can screw over those closest to them, they'll screw you over too.

yup ...
i believe a leader needs to be selfless and people who cheat are acting purely on a selfish level (whether right or wrong) ...
And the whole "character" issue is just one facet of this story, and not one that facinates me as much as the "coverage" issue.
In a nutshell (by Stephen Green):
NYT “Public editor” Clark Hoyt freely admits that his paper “never made a serious effort to investigate the story.” Hoyt goes on to say that he doesn’t think that “liberal bias had anything to do with it.” However, in the very same column he admits that the Times freely reported totally unsubstantiated rumors about an affair involving John McCain. If you treat a Republican one way and a Democrat another and it isn’t liberal bias — then what is it?

Not quite equal... you are comparing them but one is a nominee for president and one is/was a low polling candidate or out of the race (depending on when rumors came up).
I'm not disagreeing that the NY Times doesn't lean left, but it's one freaking paper... The right has newspapers and media outlets that lean their way, and so does the left.

Honest to God, the first time I saw that dude, I thought, "He probably cheats on his wife."
He just looks like ... a televangelist or something.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
this whole conversation is stupid since he told his wife about the affair before he even ran for president and she supported him anyway. it's a private matter, and if elizabeth edwards was able to get past it and move on, i don't think any of US have anything further to say about it. isn't SHE the injured party? everyone acts as if the WORLD is the injured party.
grow the fuck up, folks. foreign politicians have affairs left and right. i'll bet other countries are laughing at us- again- over our "outrage" over this. it was the same stupid shit when clinton had his fun with monica chubinsky. just more non-news to obscure the fact that the press doesn't know what the fuck real news IS anymore and they're too stupid- or too OWNED- to find it and report on it.

i knew this guy was slime when he decided to still run when his wife was diagnosed. this just further proves that point. i bet he is the father as well. what a piece of shit.

Something's wrong. I agree with this completely.
I must be really ill and close to death.
