It's pretty scummy. He should have consulted Bill about how to cheat without impregnating the bitch. :p

it's probably not true. The last thing I can find on it is from last year, and I would think that the baby in question was already born. I would also think that if there was any truth to it, the paternity of the baby would have already been determined.

I should also note that the first thing that popped up was from the National Enquirer. Go figure.

    Take care,
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

I don't know about a lot of Americans. You read something, and some of you appear to just believe it. Guys...you're supposed to read something and question it. You should have smoked less dope in school and paid more attention to the media literacy class. And when you read something in a publication that exists to prove the yeti lives, you just laugh.

Keep dreaming, it's the liberal press protecting one of their own, powerful liberals circling the wagons ... he's gonna be a no show at convention, no cabinet or VP nod for him. He's done.

    Unless it's not true.

If this was Romney or -- aw heck there's no real equivalant in the GOP -- but it'd be front page NYT!

If the "liberal press" is protecting their own, how did you hear about it? Or is the National Enquirer an example of the "conservative press?" Now that I think about it, though, that does make sense.

There are a few things you should think about before getting all paranoid and shaking your hands around your head and stuff. Namely, it's the National Enquirer, so there's that - but, also, John Edwards doesn't currently hold a public office, isn't seeking a public office at the moment, and is largely out of the public eye these days. Oh, and that picture? Yeah, o.k. When there's more proof, I'm sure you'll hear the much maligned MSM (or Lame Stream Media, as they call it in your neck of the woods) beat it to death like so many other useless distractions they blabber on about all day long.

Well I guess we can applaud McCain for offering the biker veterans a shot at his wife, only fitting since McCain voted against current military and veteran pay raises, increased health care benefits, educational benefits and housing benefits. Now that McCain doesn't even bother to show up for his Senate duties any more he is not even in a position to understand what the veterans need, nor does he care when his vote could make a difference. The military of today needs more than McCain showing up at a biker rally. The veterans of the past, present and future requires more than a pat on the back and varicose veins.

If McCain can't do right by the military as a Senator, how can he do right by the military as Commander-In-Chief?

although I questioned the origin of the "affair" issue, it seems that he has now admitted that he "lied about the affair", but insists he is not the father of the child. It was the top ticker on CNN when I just went over there...

Maybe JE is a PJ fan, read this thread, and decided it was time to come clean. ;)

Shame--I really liked him (personally) and have the utmost respect for his wife. She's a fighter.

Well, I think it's clear that had Edwards gotten the nomination, the dems chance at the White House would be over.

The republican would eat that up just like they did with ol' Slick Willy and Monica.

Edwards Admits Sexual Affair; Lied as Presidential Candidate
In an ABC NEWS NIGHTLINE interview, Edwards Reveals He Cheated, But Didn't Father Child

    August 8, 2008 —

John Edwards repeatedly lied during his Presidential campaign about an extramarital affair with a novice filmmaker, the former Senator admitted to ABC News today.

In an interview for broadcast tonight on Nightline, Edwards told ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff he did have an affair with 44-year old Rielle Hunter, but said that he did not love her.

Edwards also denied he was the father of Hunter's baby girl, Frances Quinn, although the one-time Democratic Presidential candidate said he has not taken a paternity test.

Edwards said he knew he was not the father based on timing of the baby's birth on February 27, 2008. He said his affair ended too soon for him to have been the father.

A former campaign aide, Andrew Young, has said he was the father of the child.

According to friends of Hunter, Edwards met her at a New York city bar in 2006. His political action committee later paid her $114,000 to produce campaign website documentaries despite her lack of experience.

Edwards said the affair began during the campaign after she was hired. Hunter traveled with Edwards around the country and to Africa.

Edwards said he told his wife, Elizabeth, and others in his family about the affair in 2006.

Edwards made a point of telling Woodruff that his wife's cancer was in remission when he began the affair with Hunter. Elizabeth Edwards has since been diagnosed with an incurable form of the disease.

When the National Enquirer first reported the alleged Edwards-Hunter affair last October 11, Edwards, his campaign staff and Hunter vociferously denounced the report.

"The story is false, it's completely untrue, it's ridiculous," Edwards told reporters then.

He repeated his denials just two weeks ago.

Edwards today admitted the National Enquirer was correct when it reported he had visited Hunter at the Beverly Hills Hilton last month.

The former Senator said his wife had not known about the meeting.

Since becoming pregnant, Hunter has lived under assumed names in a series of expensive homes in North Carolina and, more recently, in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Edwards denied paying any money to Hunter to keep her from going public but said it was possible some of his friends or supporters may have made payments without telling him.

He said he would ask questions about any possible arrangement.

Watch the full interview tonight on "Nightline" at 11:35 p.m. ET

Nice. Edwards was a phony with his politics and it looks like he's just as phony in his personal life.

And yes, McCain is a lying, cheating, fuckstick too.

no doubt... but I bet most people do not know about McCain leaving his mangled wife for Cindy, so the republican DO NOT want to draw attention to the Edwards deal because once the comparison to McCain is made for everyone to see, it will be OVER for McCain....I hope McCain is stupid enough to say something about this, but would the media really call him on it?
