Any hint that a debate will be delayed just increases this frustration because it gives the impression they're continuing those charades.
It's not smart to piss off the press, but I think that the McCain camp is going that route almost intentionally just to fire up the base.
It's just another example of Presidential candidate McCain being a polar opposite to Senator McCain. He has just completely given in to his handlers at this point. My whole life

So what's the deal? I need to make Friday night plans over here. Fucking McCain is messing up my weekend.
Also, is his campaign still suspended? My prediction is he'll come out with a statement/ press conference in which he somehow takes credit for getting the deal done.San Diego 10/25/00, Mountain View 6/1/03, Santa Barbara 10/28/03, Northwest School 3/18/05, San Diego 7/7/06, Los Angeles 7/9/06, 7/10/06, Honolulu (U2) 12/9/06, Santa Barbara (EV) 4/10/08, Los Angeles (EV) 4/12/08, Hartford 6/27/08, Mansfield 6/28/08, VH1 Rock Honors The Who 7/12/08, Seattle 9/21/09, Universal City 9/30/09, 10/1/09, 10/6/09, 10/7/09, San Diego 10/9/09, Los Angeles (EV) 7/8/11, Santa Barbara (EV) 7/9/11, Chicago 7/19/13, San Diego 11/21/13, Los Angeles 11/23/13, 11/24/13, Oakland 11/26/13, Chicago 8/22/16, Missoula 8/13/18, Boston 9/2/18, Los Angeles 2/25/22 (EV), San Diego 5/3/22, Los Angeles 5/6/22, 5/7/22, Imola 6/25/22, Los Angeles 5/21/24, [London 6/29/24], [Boston 9/15/24]0 -

There truly is no reason to push back the debate now. Now if he does not show or draws this out for to long it will play out extremely poor for him.
Something no one has brought up yet but McCain was not involved in any of the closed door meetings between House and Senate leaders to get the plan together. It could be said that his announcement was just a bit of grand standing.
I agree with you. If the compromise is official, then I think the debate should take place. The truth is, McCain was the one requesting "more" debates. Obama was the one saying no to more debates. That said, once again, if things are a "go" tomorrow, I think McCain will show up. It really wouldn't make sense for him not to. But, I don't see too much of a problem with him ensuring this thing will go through.0 -

And it really does not suprise me that you think this is a good move.. putting the job first? The job is done.. this just makes him look like he is a fool now..
You crack me up.
Yes, I'm not one who chants "Obama Obama" in my sleep, so I'm not surprised that you are not surprised. That said, I sincerely have not decided how I am voting yet and I'm betting that you have.
The job has not been "officially" completed yet. According to the AP, a deal was struck earlier today, but it's future was unclear. Words are meaningless in politics, as I'm sure you know. You need signatures and actual votes. Therefore, you are wrong... the job is not complete. That is fact.0 -
I guess McCain really doesn't want the debate to happen. Anyone think his goal is to push the debate to next week so Palin won't have to debate Biden? Also, reports confirm that his campaign offices are going at full tilt across the country.

Excerpt: Towards the end, McCain finally spoke up, mentioning a counter-proposal that had been offered by some conservative House Republicans, which would suspend the capital gains tax for two years and provide tax incentives to encourage firms that buy up bad debt. McCain did not discuss specifics of the plan, though, and was non-committal about supporting it."Where there is sacrifice there is someone collecting the sacrificial offerings."-- Ayn Rand

However, I got to admit I'd like to see a debate. So, I hope he changes his mind and markets recover.
It took him five days into the crisis to "put his job first." Ploy. If he hadn't been sliding in the polls, he'd be out campaigning and spreading lies as per usual. Funny Palin would get an extra prep week out of the deal, too. Not that she can't use it, but still.0 -

Depends on how you describe the crisis. I totally disagree, I think you need to take into account the bottom. And you are not with your "five days" quote. The bottom was obviously not five days ago. So, please..... try to be objective.0 -

I truly am delighted in my ability to crack you up.. it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!
Here for the last month while I sleep I actually am chanting "NO, NO".. and wake up in a cold sweat after the nightmare that I just had of Sarah Palin being president! It is the scariest dream I ever have had!
Yes.. I decided A LONG time ago which SIDE I was voting for.. sorry, but for me personally there was never another option other than the person who had the D next to his or her name.. as there is NO WAY I am voting for yet another republican to fuck the American people the way we have been for the last 8 years.
That said.. when I responded to this post it seemed that the deal was done.. it is not. But even with that not being resolved.. if John McCain cannot handle a 90 minute debate along with the problem we are facing pretty much scares the shit out of me in his multi-tasking abilities.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
